I am considering a late deal to Ibiza-last time I went was as a child-now I have 1 hubby and 2 children 14 & 11. We like quietish resorts with a sprinkling of bars and shops to browse in the evenings-(a bit like Puerto Pollensa in MAjorca.)
Definately no noisy discos/chavs/late night noise.
I know fussy arnt I?
Do these resorts exist in Ibiza - I would be grateful for any suggestions
Check out Santa Eulalia, We stayed at Riomar a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it in the resort.
From the Riomar you could walk along the promanade to the marina where there were a number of bars and restaurants. We certainly didnt see any rowdys on our visit, I dont think it is that type of resort.
There are some shops and pavement cafes situated around the town square. There are also boat taxis that take you to other parts of the island, they are well worth a try.
If you want a quiet resort I think Santa Eulalia might be where you are looking for.
M
Santa Eulalia is the place for you.
I'll second that - Parents have just come back - said it was excellent!
Yes I agree,Santa E the place for you.Its quite similar to Puerta Pollensa IMO
I'll certainly check it out
santa eulalia - have been with kids & as a couple, definately the best resort for you if you like it quiet. Orquidea is on the beach & best entertainment from Kev tel him jo an ian said hello x
The beach is better at Cala Llonga, and Santa Eulalia is not far away to visit.
I agree - Cala Llonga is a lovely little beach and there are numerous boat trips from this beach
i agree jean the beach is ok there a few shops and my son went fishing off the small jetty carol
Hi Jabel, sorry to put a spanner in the works but we went to Ibiza in May/June and stayed in San Antonio bay and did 2 trips to Eularia - we're both in our sixties and found it a very boring place. I assume with children the age they are that you are thinking of school holidays (July August) which is the clubbing season and you don't want to be in San Ant town but the bay is lovely and there would be more for your youngsters to do during the day and there are plenty of restuarants for the evening, just make sure you are on the seafront.
I am sorry to add to your spanner Katy2, you can call Santa Eulalia what you like but boring? There are masses of restaurants, bars, watersports etc.. It is a proper Spanish working town, with two blue flag beaches and the prettiest marina in the med. There is only one karaoke bar though, maybe that's what you meant by boring!
I'm with Casperslides on this. How anyone can find Santa Eulalia boring is beyond me! It is by far and away the best resort in Ibiza. Just ask the many people who return year after year. By the way, it was nice meeting you earlier this month Casperslides. Hope the weather has well and truly picked up by now!
I think that someone who enjoys British style nightlife such as Karaoke bars ect ect might find Santa E boring if that is what they want from a resort,I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for that sort of thing.
Although we love it we always stayed in a hotel with good entertainment when we went when the kids were younger/teenagers as there isn't a great deal for them otherwise.
I think if me and my wife were to stay there now we would find ourselves wanting a little more in the resort in the terms of entertainment than it offers consequently we stay in Es Cana which although much smaller does have more life at night.
Each to their own I suppose
Katy if you found Santa E boring why did you have TWO trips there?
In reply to other posts about Cala Lionga - now that is boring!!!
San antonio Bay is quiet, unlike san antonio itself.. and you still have all the fun things to do through the day.
They are really the only ones i know are definately quiet
While I can undestand why Santa Eulalia might be boring to some, I am more in agreement with those, such as Casper, who find it an excellent resort.
It certainly has plenty to offer in terms of restaurant choice and has many pleasant bars along the front.
There are also many boat trips available and buses to other resorts are regular and cheap.
All-in-all it's an excellent base for enjoying a nice resort and exploring the rest of the island.
if you really want a quiet resort then try cala san vicente
