Not sure of the name but saw him in The Town in April

A caveman?

Could they be talking about the Mad Maouri? A comedian whose act is based on the 'I'm black therefore can get away with it' school of thought. Some questionable comments that when I saw him the audience curdled at somewhat

Very Very old fashioned comic who's most impressive niche was swining glowing tennis balls. Straight out of 80s/90s Blackpool comic acts...atrocious

I've never seen him but it doesn't sound as though I'm missing much.

Hi Sue,
It's been driving me daft who the comedian is. I am certain it's not the Mad Maori (who I quite liked) though he is getting past it. I believe he's in his seventies now.
I have been surfing the net for the comedian at The Town and I am 99% it is Davy Royal who must also be over 70. Check out his picture at http://www.espana-resort.com/starsinbenidorm4.html

Hi Helen, Sorry but that link doesn't work.

I haven't seen Davy Royal either.

Perhaps you could text or ring Radio Leeds and ask them.

Their number is 07786202924 just explain that you heard that they went to see a comedien in Benidorm and you were wondering who it was, or ring them on 08453033333. The best time to do it would be during Graham Livers show which is 9-12pm Mon-Sat. It's usually Johnny the producer who answers the phone and as he was also in Beni he is sure to know who it was as he will have been in the club/pub too.

That's funny, as it's where he started off, at The Merry England showbar, I caught him there 1987 and he was sooo funny. Apparently his act hasn't changed that much since then.
Don't think Tony Scott would of dressed as a caveman???

Hey Taggy, I don't think that they said that he was from Yorkshire, just that he was dressed as a caveman and was politically incorrect.

Is Tony Scott still claiming to be a 'top US comedian'

He died on his behind when I saw him, know a few other people who've seen him and didn't like him either. Never been able to get away with people who toss up the old racist jokes as being alright on the basis of they are descended from foreign people.

His act was ok, but his jokes should have been left in the 80's. At least Bernard Manning had fantastic comic timing. Maori is a dried up dreg of a comedian who'd never get any real work in England

Jkkne,
He wasn't doing racist stuff when i first saw him. :? We were going to see him, well i wanted to but hubby didn't, but other people said similar to what you have said, he should of retired agaes ago. :?

Tny Scott - he isn't American is he?

I'm now wondering if Helen could be right and that the comedien is Davy Royal.
I have just been on to the Radio Leeds website looking at photos that they took whilst in Beni and there is one of the Elderly Brothers outside "The Town".
They are stood either side of a board advertising the acts.

It appears that they are on immediately before Davy Royal who is advertised as a top scouse comic so could he be "The cave man" or is it a coincidence?

Sue :)
Hi Cazz, I haven't put the link on as I don't know if it is allowed but this is what it says on Tony Scotts official website.

The Official Web site of Tony Scott, Benidorms finest comic import from the USA.

He sounded very British to me, although it was the last 5 mins of his show as we went in expecting Elvis. :? :?
