sure you'll have a fab time xx

we are in marmaris from 31 july to 14 august

not sure where the oasis is though??

i go with hubby and daughter and we normally spend about £1,000 - we do drink rather alot and do a couple of trips out of that so I don't think its too bad - also buy other bits and bobs whilst there

xx

have you been to marmaris before? if so what is it like? that money sounds great i am going with my bf and we were looking at 500 each and want to do excersions etc there so think that will be fine, taking the credit card so if spend to much can rely on that :) xxx

yes been before - its our 6th time!

staying at the kocer which is near the Taj Mahal indian

you can use credit cards yes but just be careful what the exchange rate is with them x

i would also recommend that if you want to go on excursions then don't book with tour operator as they charge well over the odds! there are numerous "travel agents" around who will give you bargains on trips x

There is another forum topic which talks about spending money in Turkey.

Having just come back from Icmeler (next door to Marmaris) just take a £100 or so in Turkish Lira and use your card in the ATMs for the best exchange rate. We found the HSBC ATMs accepted our cashpoint, credit and debit cards with no problems and there are a few in Marmaris. The cashpoint or debit card rate is best as credit cards charge extra for withdrawing cash!

We took the Boat trip from Icmeler to Turtle Beach and then on to the mud baths at Dalyan with pick up from and return to our apartment. We were picked up at 8-45 and returned at 7-30pm - all included apart from drinks on the boat was £15 (and they quite happily accepted Sterling). My OH took the trip to Ephysus whilst I was over in Rhodes and she thoroughly enjoyed it BUT it is a very long day. She was picked up at the apartment at 6-30am and returned approximately 9pm - although all meals were provided.

The main expense is if you hire a car, the car is typically £20 - £25 a day (depending on length of hire) but fuel last week worked out at roughly £1-35 to £1-40 a litre!!!!! So if you want to visit Ephysus or Pammakule, take the coach trip option!!!

It was our first time in Turkey but definitely won't be the last. (I will get my report typed up soon - honest!!)

Enjoy

Dave

A friend of mine goes to the Club Alize every year and loves it - in fact she is there at the moment so I'm sure you will have a good time. We have been to Marmaris 3 times now and going back again in August.

Happy holidays.
