Do you have to be staying at a Disney onsite hotel to use the restaurants in the various resort hotels? We thought the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Contemporary and Polynesian looked good and wanted to try them.
Also any ideas on how far ahead we would need to be booking?
Thanks

No anyone can eat at WDW hotel restaurants. You can call 90 days before and ask for an ADR (Advance Dining Resevation) on 001-407-939-3463 from the UK. They take calls from 7am EST which is midday here, be warned if you want a popular meal in the parks such as Cinderella's Royal Table at MK you need to be spot on with the date and time for calling.

I strongly recommend the Market Street Cafe in Celebration for either lunch or dinner, the food is good and reasonably priced. The name doesn't do it any favours but it is definitely worth a visit, Americans use it, not many tourists. There are other restaurants in Celebration too with inside and outside dining.

Del Frisco's - the best restuarant in NYC IMO

Liz,
Sorry it took a while to respond to your question about Thanksgiving Dinner. I was on a cruise in the Mediterranean. Here are some options recommended by the Zagat Survey. I find Zagat to be a reliable resource on restaurants and use their ratings often when searching for a place to eat.

Enjoy your visit to New York!

Best regards,
Linda

You must try the breakfast menu at Chick Fil A. It was a great start to the day and kept us going until mid afternoon. Mini hash browns, mini chicken breast in honey buttered rolls, half pint of Tropicana orange juice all for approx £2. Also try the hot biscuits they were great.

Hi, can anyone recommend some good but not hugely expensive restaurants in Las Vegas please? As we are going there to celebrate birthdays and our wedding anniversary, we would like to have a special meal out one night as well....we like all kinds of food except for Thai!
Thanks!

tinka - The Cheesecake Factory in caesers Palace does really nice food and huge portions.

Slightly more expensive is Hugo's Palace, under the 4 queens downtown - amazing food!!

Strangely enough one of my friends who has been to Vegas and other parts of the States also recommended the Cheesecake Factory... so I looked at their website and the menu is fantastic! I think we will definitely have a meal there! But keep your recommendations coming as we are in Vegas for a week!

We tend to eat at the buffets rather than a set meal and can highly recommend the one at Wynn, even though it's expensive at $34.

I can also recommend the Cheesecake Factory or you can try the Grand Lux Cafe at the Venetian which is owned by the same company.

Just a quick note to say thanks to travelwise. My wife and I are going to NYC on 23rd Feb for 3 nights and were desperately looking for somewhere to eat on these nights. The advice posted on this site has helped us immensely.

Most of the restaurants have web sites and online booking. However we e-mailed the concierge at the hotel we are staying at (Milford Plaza on W45th) and they have made reservations for us.

Thanks once more...

we are getting married in orlando at cypress grove in november and are having trouble finding somewhere suitable to have our wedding luncheon approx 1.30pm. This is our first visit so have no idea of the standard/dress code atmosphere of any of the restaurants and would really appreciate some info.

Can anyone suggest a suitable venue for 10 including 3 children. We are staying in the famosa gardens area so somewhere close would be best but could travel for best venue. Price is not the first concern but nothing too fancy as we have picky eaters but obviously nowhere too casual as we wont want to look right plonkers in our wedding outfits

can any body tell me what sort of prices are charged to eat in the crystal palace restaurant in the magic kingdom. I am looking to book a buffet character lunch or dinner and can't seem to find very much info on how to do this. :D

lynray, there is a menu guide on a link in the Disney Dining plan thread.
