We were able to eat in all the restaurants as many times as we wanted too. You did have to make a reservation at reception to eat in the Italian, fish or Chinese ones. Ice cream was free from what I could see. We did go into town on one occasion early evening. Naama bay makes Blackpool look dimly lit at illuminations. It was all bright flashing lights. Not my cup of tea as a 50 something year old. There's Hard Rock Cafe and the such like. You can find any nationality of food you want - chinese, thai, mexican etc. etc. etc.
The excursions are expensive with the rep but I did hear you could get them much cheaper if you go into Naama Bay to book with a local tour operator.
Does anyone know the situation with internet there, I read a review which said you needed your own laptop, which suggests that they have free wireless or ethernet to the rooms... that would be very useful, but I don't want to lug my laptop and then find it's not available!
Please can anyone tell me exactly where the hotel is, I`m gettin a bit confused. (doesn`t seem to take much lately!) Assuming its on the coast quite near to the airport (5km) is it near to any other hotel.
Thanks everybody for your replies, managing to build up a good picture now and it all sounds lovely.
It's at Habada, think it's next door to the Iberotel Club Fanara if you know where that is? Its the end with Old Sharm, Fantasia, El Fanar etc
Hope this Helps

Hi, are you sure that's where it is... I thought that was the other Ocean Reef. I was told this one is next door to the Hyatt?
Mmmmmmmm! In that case I may be wrong as I didn't know there were two hotels with the same name. Have you checked on the map? Number 9 on the left hand map was the one I was thinking about, The Hyatt is 103, there are spaces next to the Hyatt, perhaps it has been built there ?

I couldn't find the map!, but now you've given me the link I'm guessing it's somewhere between 93 and 103... someone who'd been there will no doubt correct me.
When you click on the map, do an extra click on the numbers and it will bring up the name of the hotels and further details of them. If you click on the number nine. It has a photo does that look like the one in your brochure?

Thanks for that, nope doesn't look like it.
Got it.. this is the review I remember "We were amongst the 1st batch of guests for Thomson in the 1st week of June after what seemed to have been long delays with construction at this new hotel. The hotel is close to the airport no noise though between the Sheraton and Crown Plaza."
Ah! That makes sense. I stayed at the Crowne Plaza in 2006 and they were building a hotel next to it, so that is probably the one.
Hi you are correct it is on the left hand side of Sheraton if your looking at the map its on the nama bay side of the Sheraton before the Crowne Plaza
Did you go there? I was wondering if you put a review in the 'Hotel Review' section of Holiday Truths, as I would be interested in reading it as I have been thinking about going there myself.

Hi weve not been yet were going at the start of May but have spent a lot of time looking for info and pics on it theres not much out there just now due to it not being open for long but if you look back to page 1 of this post you will see where to find some reviews only 38 on TA at the moment but its looking very good
Steve.
Any ideas if anyone out there does any discounts on Thomsons, as they are the only ones doi8ng the Reef Oasis Blue Bay. Or should I wait a few weeks, to see if the prices come down but then have to gamble that there will be availability.
Thanks
Do they have a shutle bus (or is there a pay bus) to get to Sharm?
Sometimes the banter with the taxis is a little wearing & a fixed price is a relief. You at least get that with a bus!
We are due to stay here at the end of May and I have heard that there is building work going on at the hotel and also next door. This is a new hotel so would have thought all building work would have been well finished.
Thanks
I do leave by Reef Oasis hotel in Sharm , there is a couple of building going just near by the hotel gate , I don't think that the noise may reach the room especially that the hotel is a quite big one.
