Thanks for that Snowflake.
We' will definatly pay them a visit (more than once if the ribs are up to scratch )
I dont know which restaurant is the worse one, but defenately the best place for metiterranean and italian food is La Cultura Del Gusto in Pernera
i would agree with sveco and add il cavallerie to any list
On my recent trip, Island Affair was lovely, especially the fillet steak Roquefort! Perla Blu in Pernera is lovely.
thats first time i've heard a complaint about nicolas tavern, we always visit there & have never had reason to complain..
Hi there. When we were in Protaras we went to Nicholas Taverna 3 times and never had a bad meal. We were given free salad, wine and liquers and they couldnt do enough for us. We did not try many places, as we were there over the end of oct/nov and most places closed on 31 October, but Nicolas Taverna was still open and we loved it.
The food was only average when we went, and they were cramming people in with not enough waiting staff to go around so the service was terrible.
I insisted we try it after all the good recommendations on here!
We go on Wednesday and I'm just making a little list of the best restaurants to visit.
Can anyone tell me where does the best breakfast please ?
A bit long winded answer sorry,I'm sure someone else will have a more concise description.
Blue Spice and La Cultura del Gusto in Pernera. Also Island Oasis, but this is no longer there.
Worst would be Bennigans outside the Elamaris. Opened when I was working out there. I find it overpriced, service not very good and food not comparable to other restaurants.
In Protaras itself, Promises gets my vote. Georgia's is nice too, as is Diva. (Oooh my list is getting a bit long now!!!)
Well worth a trip is a Mexican in Ayia Napa called Los Bandidos. If you want a mexican restaurant this is fantastic and much better than the ones in Protaras!!
The Freshhouse in Pernera did a very well cooked, (clean plate of, no slopped oil etc) english bacon, egg, sausage, beans and fried bread.
What about breakfast in Protaras ?..
Good question - We are staying at the rising star apartment and while we tend to have breakfast in the apartment most mornings, I do like to go out for the occasional spot of brekkie - so any recommendations close by to where we are staying?
Zodiac on the main strip does a lovely breakfast, and closer to where you are, the Yianna Marie restaurant is good, overlooking the sea - lovely!
Thanks for the info on breakfast.
Vist the site and read all about how it's made. Also explains what's in all the dishes. Very useful!
See the 1st post for the address.
I am new to the site and can't post addresses or pics yet.
We also like Oscars Restaurant which is by the dancing fountains, really nice food and great service.
Some further thoughts on eating out for 2007.
Went for a meal at the Chinese at the Fig tree bay end, China House it is called at it was truly awful, I mean really bad, we used to go every time we were in protaras but will not touch it again, bad service, small portions horrible food. Another member of our party went to the other Chinese near McDonalds and said that was very bad too, we have been there before I knew that was bad, so in Protaras strip there is no good Chinese restaurants.
Stay away!
On a plus note we had lovely meals at Divas and Zucahhis (???) on top of Teejays used to be Brazilian restaurant.
Again stay away from both Chinese's on the strip, you will be wasting your time and money, something you dont't have a lot off on holiday!
If you turn right on to the top road and walk past the Flintstones bar, there is a good chinese there, we go year after year and have never had a problem.
