Hello
I am due to go to Magaluf in a months time and would like to find out where the best restaurants are. I will be going to as many as possible and dont mind paying for quality. Any recomendations would be appreciated.
Thanks
Paul
Go to Portal Nous, on the port there is a Michelin 2 star called Tristan's if your wallet is really fat! or next door at Flanagans is a more reasonable place. I quite like the food and service at Binnacle myself.
Slightly further afield in Palma there is a vast selection to choose from, check out http://www.mallorca-restaurants-121.com for a full review.
Myself, I like Wellies in Portals - great people-watching from the terrace. Also like Mark says, some great restraurants in Palma.
but then you have loads of nice little eateries on the beach front like ness, robinson crusoes, boatyard which is simple food but youre in nice surroundings!
Not sure about eating out at night for those, but Robinson Crusoes is THE place for breakfast.
the food in maga os nto that nice cos it caters for the drubnks as such
cos in maga all the foil go to tget lashed etc - the restauranteers think its alright to serve them crap cos whenm pissed will eat anythign and when hungover just think of fry ups and more booze so if you want good food head down towards Son Caliu where the locals live and eat and you are guaranteed good food
or if you want to eat att he beach try Ruby Tuesdays on SOn Matias beach or try El Mosquito
You are obviously an expert in eating with drunks, however there are thousands of people every day who eat in perfectly good eating places in Magalluf, and are perfectly happy with the food served. It's fair to say there there are no high class restaurants here, they wouldn't survive when wLondon and his friends are wanting a greasy kebab or quick burger and cardboard chips after a night on the lash.
However Cafeteria Tapas (next door to Mrs Doyle's) and Seymours in Palma Nova (only 10 minutes walk from Magalluf) are good examples of perfectly good places to eat good, nicely prepared food at reasonable prices. You need to be well-heeled to eat and drink at Portals - we escaped for an hour the other night and had a drink with some friends of ours, and a round of 4 drinks at Cappachinos at Puerta Portals and it set me back over 28 euros, including 9.50 for a smirnoff and fresh orange. The same round at our bar would have cost 14 euros less! Nice surroundings, but not that nice!
Cheers,
Adam
CRUSOE'S , BOAT YARD , HAPPY HOUSE , RUBY TUESDAYS , LOS CURRIES , TOM BROWNS . are all top notch food joints without the "BIG PLATE small portion ala carte stuff "

i've been living out here for a while now and have tried quite a few places to eat, here are some of the places that i find myself coming back to.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=104827409083200599445.00000112bd4ec00853158
let me know what you think of these places, and also of the new personalised google maps.
Enjoy your holidays.
Robin
i go to maga every year and a few years more than once for the year
I tend to go wioth my husband and 2 little ones to our holiday home out there in Son Caliu
I dont drink so am not an expert in eating with drunks
but i do have an opinion on the food places in maga and years of experience to go with it
The food is of better quality in Son Caliu
1.. not a lot of drunks as it is too expensive
2.. Food places in Maga like greasy burger joints all over the place
3.. good food at robinson Crusoes, boat yard, Ruby tuesdays (although it is on Son Matias beach not Maga) there are a lot of food places that do the same food, greasy food, but they are not all to my taste
we all have different taste buds
i like good food and dont mind paying the price for good food oh and also Katies bar and Resturant on Son Matias beach also has good food and service and they dont allow drunks on the premises so its all good
Good fellow
i think you were being a bit cheeky but you obviously realise the truth yourself as all the places you mentioned are not in Magaluf -
anyway i love Mallorca and tryto eat at local food places - ;local meaning using local produce and food thats Mallorcan or Catalonian not greasy chips and burgers my taste buds would die if i ate that sort of rubbish and think about my poor children if i fed them burgers and chips - we have realy food, not burgers and chips and crap like that
so i dont mind paying a bit more for quality and nice surroundings, good food and no English drunks with England tatooed on their back like people dont know where you are form - the attitude goves it away and so does the stench of alcohol
Now then this is just my opinion
the food in maga os nto that nice cos it caters for the drubnks as such
Hi wLondon - this is a quote from your posting. I'm sat on my terrace as I write this and there are hundreds of people walking by every hour. It's Sunday, mid afternoon, I've yet to see a drunk, and they all look as though they are well fed. I'm trying to square that with your comments, and I cannot.
The original posting asked for nice places to eat, and I read that as meaning somewhere a little above the average, and I openly accept that there are only a few such places in Magalluf, but to bundle all the other bars and restaurants together who serve hundreds of people everyday and say they are not that nice and cater for drunks is simply wrong.
Most people who get drunk, are in such a state by the end of the night. At that time nearly all the Restaurants are closed, and the food available is KFC, Burger King, McDonalds etc etc - not really my cup of tea, but they cater for a need.
Didn't mean any personal, but I felt your posting was inaccurate and mis-leading.
Adam's probably not allowed to sing his own praises but (unless he has recently stopped) he has really excellent Asian food on offer (as well as great British breakfasts). It doesn't strike you as the place far Asian food but give it a try...you will be favourably impressed I think!
I've eaten at Tristran in Portal Nous too, the food was superb, but the waiters/waitresses?... quite androgenous to be honest....rather to full of their own perceived self importance!
Best Regard - Taggy
