He and his most beautiful daughter Maria run the place, Maria was born in Bahrain and wants to return, she was teaching at the English school 6/7 year olds and her English is word perfect as is her French, Arabic and the other 4 languages she speaks.
The food is cooked as you want it, in an open view kitchen and a 5* hotel couldn't serve any better.
Yes I like Toto's just got to stop Maria from calling me Sir and every thing will be perfic

Just got back after another wonderful holiday. Again Martins Corner restaurant was excellent, as was the Delhi Durbar. Also try the Fishermans Grill on the River Sal, near the Holiday Inn.
A heads up from us also for the Fisherman's Wharf can't wait to try it again in March
Has anyone been to a restaurant called Ku (pronounced coo) in Morjem? Heard about it and wanted to know what you think. Please tell me.
Their day out boat trip was really good too. You can even check the place out before you go as they have their own web site. The prices are last years but still fairly accurate. Can't wait for the next visit.....

and no I don't work for them!!
Absolutely fabulous French Restaurant in a wonderful setting. Superb steak and desserts, best food we ate all holiday and cheaper than After 7. Went last year and returned this year food still great and service excellent, can't wait to go back!!
Please try these they all use good quality fresh food and are squeaky clean.
For it's quiet ambiance - Casa Manolita up the lane alongside Dona Alcina, Candolim.
For European vegetarian - Citrus in Tito's Road, Baga.
For a genuine Indian vegetarian, Thalis, Dosas etc.. Plantain Leaf, Calangute.
For the music, and the tandoori grills - The Stonehouse, Candolim.
For a light breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea - Cafe Chocolatti, Candolim.
For a lazy lunch and a chill-out afternoon - Lila's Cafe, on the Baga River.
In Panjim try Hotel Venite, 31 January Road in the Portuguese quarter, and the Lucky Horseshoe Cafe again portuguese influence but very chic decor.
For the best shack in Goa - I was told it's Zeebop in the south. Well I've been and it aint that good.
The best shack is - La Plage, Mandrem.
This is not normal shack food, this is French cuisine. The owners, Serge and Morgan also own Le Restaurant Francaise on Baga Road. If you go here at the weekend you may bump into someone like Jade Jagger. I warn you though, it will be busy.
La Plage, Mandrem
I'd also add the "Nova Goa hotel" in Panjim - the quality of service; the quality of food; the attentiveness - all better than good.
Alcove Restaurant & Bar (high up, overlooking Vagator Beach; great view to chill, lunch very good).
Ritz Classic, Panjim (heaps of food and sooo cheap! ) For a mouthwateringly tasty evening meal with gigantic portions...er..we did the doggy bag thing - would have been rude to waste it.
For breakfast: "Honey's"/ Arpora - they do a thick pineapple squeeze - so much so, that the straw stands upright....you know what, who needs a straw??
Intend to try 'Plaintain leaf' in Jan 07.
Stonehouse, great food, good live music, extra large vodkas !
Plantain Leaf, genuine south indian vegetarian food and the best Masala Dosas I have ever tried.
Lila Cafe, the best croissants ever and a fantastic setting for lunch too, if you fancy a change from indian food, they do wonderful ham and cheese baguettes and delicious chocolate cake.
Top of my list though goes to Bon Appetit down next to the Taj Holiday Village, a romantic setting amongst palm trees right on the beach, with great indian food of the highest quality and the best butter chicken and garlic butter naan anywhere.Anyone who rates After 7 should try here instead, I'm not a great fan, we tried it again this year after a break of a couple of years and thought that it had gone downhill, the setting is not so intimate now, I don't think the food is that special and drink prices are ridiculous. I'm always a bit puzzled that people rate it so highly.
Its a shame because we've been going there for at least 5 years
lezlie
I fancy toto's as well, let us in on your secret
katie b, how far is the Bon Appetit from CSM??? we like after 7 but if Bon is better we will try it in March
Bon Appetit is right between The Taj Holiday Village and Fort Aguada, it's in Sinquerim, a fair distance from CSM, but quick and cheap by taxi. I promise you won't be dissappointed, we always sit in the garden area which is a really romantic setting right above the beach. The service is first class too.
PS Jane will let you know what its like. How many sleeps now, its getting closer and closer eh
we just returned and i was sad to find that a couple of our favs are just not the same anymore......kingstork which used to be fantastic has given up half of the site to apartments/rooms and is just not the place it used to be,its more just like any old hotel resteraunt now & the lovely gardens where they used to have a band & folk used to dance now has a swimming pool in it. the same thing has also happened to seagulls on the same small rd to the beach at calangute(nr daytrippers!!!) shame shame!
"after seven turn right 5 meters" from Candolim is on their front lamp post.
had a real good laugh there last night, the laugh was on me but my own fault and my ribs are still aching.
