its a fair way down the main strip, and then up a side road and then parallel with the sea front. i wonder if they walked to the harbour round the back streets ?

its a right mess along the front. We came back home on christmas eve.Holes everywhere, metalspikes sticking up out the pavement and road, dust everywhere, some bars and restaurants, shops closed down and it looks awfull. The price of food in supermarkets is outrageous.£3.25p for a jar of salad cream.Take my advice and stay well clear of pdc untill roadworks have been completed.
kazolly - the roadworks are a lot further along than they were at xmas, but are still a mess!!! You can now drive from General Prim left along the strip, which is a bonus!!! And I have to say that if you want to buy salad cream here you will obviously be charged an arm and a leg!!!!
shirley, I am so sorry your parents missed the beaches
Hello Sue, How far past Cantro Atlantico are they ?, and did they start at the old town end or Matagorda end ?
Hope works are completed by middle of March!!
Hi Danny, I do believe they started at both ends The roads were shut from the casino all the way down to the Fariones. As of now the road is open from General Prim left past Centro Atlantico going towards Matagorda end. You can't get up c/Anzuelo or Pedro Barba but can go up the one way road that goes to Mucky Duck. At the bottom of General Prim, you still cannot turn right and go along to Fariones.
I was hoping they would be a little further done by now, all being well, we fly out a week tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing it all, have heard it looks quite nice
Bess, I believe they will certainly be finished for end of feb in time for the carnival, (it was taking a too long, but I hear now that a penalty clause has kicked in and the place is flooded with workers to finish as soon as possible)
Danny
All change again this morning!!!! From Matagorda end of PdC, you can't get any further that the Spar supermarket just past San Antonio. You also can't go up the Mucky Duck road now, and I am wondering if you really could when I went up it the other night
Hi Sue, thanks for the news about when the carnival is in PDC. So is it just the Sat night it will be in PDC? We fly home on the sunday 1st so will be nice to finish off with the carnival in town. Never been here when one was on before, so should be good!
The actual Carnaval procession is the Saturday night, though I have just been to PdC and saw the posters up saying three dates. Can't remember exactly what the other two were I will try and remember to look next time, and post on here in case others are over here at the same time
I fly out on Tuesday, Im really hoping the carnival will be on. Will make sure I get some pics pf the latest roadworks and post them up.
We go in 14 days, that will be really useful, Elvis. Hope it's cleared up a bit for you. x
They did an amazing amount whilst we were there, it was only a 250 metre strtch of the mile long prom so it didnt worry us. The stage is up on the prom, built with a castle on it and knights on horses for the carnival
enjoy.
Excellent, looks good for my trip in 11 days!!!
