Im really pleased 22 extra flights keeps the airport busy and hopefully open :)
Personally im hoping for some internal connections down to london and up to scotland would be great.

I would be great if they could take over the old LBA/Heathrow flights save me having to fly to Manchester and train to Leeds or taxi over the M62 to get home.

we love this airport, and would choose it every time.....

i hope easyjet add some other countries to there list, especially Dalaman

I would like to see Malta added back on to the list and Arrecife all year round....and yep, a couple of internal flights would be good...up to Scotland would be great.
At one point, scheduled flights were being cut back so much I rayt feared for the place.
As we live just down the road from the airport, it is ideal for us and we would go from there every time but they dont have stuff to suit us anymore.. :cry

More flights now with Aer Lingus Regional flying daily to Dublin with connecting flights to New York and Boston. You can travel on one ticket from DSA which helps with bypassing US Immigration at Dublin instead of in the U.S destination. Good prices starting at £350 return.

Thomas Cook have added Antalya as an extra destination for Summer 2011 from Doncaster. Thomson are starting this route from Summer 2010.

Hello! Don't know if this is the right place to post, but we're flying to Bodrum from Robin Hood on Monday 31st May, and were wondering what type of aircraft we'll be on? Thank you!

maisydaisy,

If you can provide your flights details, eg dates, which airline and flight number if you have it on the relevant airline thread, we'd be more than happy to provide aircraft information for you. The two most popular include;

THOMSON AIRWAYS ... Q&As
THOMAS COOK AIRLINES - FLYTHOMASCOOK .. Q&As

Maisydaisy, its scheduled to be a 737-300 which has no in-flight entertainment.

ta for the link..it doesnt give any reason why though....it is a shame, but my guess it is coz the costs are too high. Thomsons pretty much have the monopoly there.

'Justval', they pulled out because they have not managed to attract sufficient passengers. It remains to be seen if they can attract any further interest from such operators since Easyjet are such a big name in the UK market.

It seems that us cynics were right about the airport all along, and it will lways be a regional backwater.

If the supplements were lower it might not be such a regional backwater....

They dont charge 'suppliments' as it is a base for Thomson. However Thomson do have a monopoly hence charging so much. They can do this since they have such a big market share in the package market and their offerings from Leeds and Humberside are negligable these days.

Seat only low cost flights have a poor track record from Doncaster, and this can hardly instill confidence in any other potential airlines.
