Stevie Messer,
The Best Thing For You To Do Would Be To Contact Ryanair
Gower
Hi, can you help? I recently booked a Ryanair ticket for my wife and in my haste put down her married name. What I realise is that in her Italian passport it still has her maiden name on the main info page. However it does have her married name on another page. I just tried to change this via the Ryanair website and it says that it costs £100 to change this. Which is crazy. Any advice. Thanks Stevie

Hi Stevie
as you already know, to change a name online costs £100, to do the change by another method costs even more (£150 I think) so beware.
You may find it cheaper to lose the booking you already have and start again, although it's probably worth checking with Ryanair as the name the booking is in DOES appear on your wife's passport.

Taking the other approach.....is it easier/cheaper to change the passport to match the booking ?
John

Payment handling Fee if you use a card other than Visa Electron - £5.00 per person each way (not optional)
think thats it.......
John.
Cheers John!
They've got a few fares now which are £1.00 e/w but with no check-in fees or taxes which might save you a bit more. I've already booked at the same price as you Pippy, but the £1 ones would have cost me more in the long run as the timings would have meant I couldn't use my bus pass to Stansted!!
I'll keep checking! Nothing definite as yet mind you!
What sort of dates are you looking at ?
I tend to be on Ryanair most days that the offers change(FIL won't pay more than £50 inc bags and priority ) if I see something then I'll drop you a PM.
Have set alarm on mobile to check on 16th for next offer
John.
So, I'm now considering a gig trip to Dublin instead! That would mean flying out on the first flight of the day from Gatwick (or by 12pm at the latest to allow for delays) on the 6th of November and flying back on the first flight of the day (8am) on the 7th.
I'd do what I did the last time I went over to Dublin for a gig, head straight for the airport after the gig and just hang around til I can check-in for the flight.
At the moment there are no special offers for those dates but if you're on their website most days then it would be great if you'd keep an eye out for offers for those dates for two adults with hand luggage only!
If I booked the 10am flight from Gatwick to Dublin this would be the cost for two adults...
Regular Fare
Depart:
London Gatwick (South Terminal) 10:00
Arrive:
Dublin 11:15
2 x Adult 29.98 GBP
Fare: 29.98 GBP
Online Check-In: 10.00 GBP
Taxes / Fees: 58.10 GBP
Total Price: 98.08 GBP
If I booked the 13.45 flight this would be the cost...
Free Online Check in
Depart:
London Gatwick (South Terminal) 13:45
Arrive:
Dublin 15:05
2 x Adult 36.00 GBP
Fare: 36.00 GBP
Online Check-In: 0.00 GBP
Taxes / Fees: 0.00 GBP
Total Price: 36.00 GBP
I can see free online check-in applies to the later flight but no taxes/fees. I thought taxes and fees applied to all flights?? Is that an error do you think?
its not an error.
when they do special fares you do not pay for on-line checkin and you usually get no taxes.
just booked my flight for spetember and it cost me £36 return to gerona -including priority boarding and all extras(but no hold luggage).
Cheers Jim!
Given it's a Tuesday and Wednesday I'm pretty sure you should be getting flights at £5 or less.

Thanks John
As my gig destination has now changed from France to Dublin it will actually be a Friday flight out and a Saturday flight back. Are offers still a possibility for those days do you think?
Given that there are 6 flights a day to Dublin, I would guess that you might get some really cheap flights but they could well be times that don't suit you.
We have been to Dublin from Manchester a couple of times with them and found that the late night flights out and early morning flights back the cheapest. ie coming home on a Sunday - 1p flights at 6.30am but £30 or £40 in the afternoon and evening. It worked out cheaper staying another night near the hotel (Bewleys) then getting the 6.30am on the Monday morning.
Good Luck !
John
Thanks! I'll be checking daily!
Ryanair to shut website for ten hours
Ryanair passengers are being told they must check in online in advance of the airline's website closing for ten hours.
The site http://www.ryanair.com will close from 19.00 on June 24 until 05.00 the following morning due to an "essential upgrade maintenance".
Web check-in passengers travelling on Thursday, June 25 must ensure that they have checked in online before 18.00 on Wednesday, June 24, the airline said.
Ryanair's website will not be available for passenger bookings or other passenger services from 19.00 due to the upgrade works.
Passengers who booked flights on or before the May 21 and selected to use airport check-in will be unaffected and can check-in at the airport as normal.
"Ryanair apologises for any inconvenience caused by this maintenance work," a statement said.

There are three of us going and the price today had dropped right down to £17 return each. I know it could fall even lower but as £17 is such a bargain anyway we didn't want to risk the price of flights going up again and not coming back down!

£51 in total for three return flights! Pretty pleased with that
What about for my return flight the following day, how do people go about doing the online check-in for that and printing the boarding pass?
