hi i prefer salou to benidorm, not as many pubs(my opinion) beach is lovely hotels are quite plentiful near to all amenities. the h10 hotels are really good. salou princess is very close , salauris palace, villa romana, oasis, calypso, europa park. hope this helps. loads of shops.

Hi Glenamber, me & hubby like both Benidorm & Salou. The beach is lovely with a nice prom, with plenty of nice cafes oposite it.There's plenty of shops for you to browse .We stay in the Delfin Park hotel which is a H10 hotel, it's just a short walk to the beach and shops.

I've just got back from Salou and I didn't think much of the shops. It's mainly tourist type shops selling tat (only my opinion of course) However, the beaches are lovely. We stayed at the Playa park hotel (last time we stayed at Cye apartments which are more central, but I prefer the playa park hotel) I would definately recommend this hotel. The staff are really lovely and can't do enough for you. The hotel has two nice pools, but we didn't get a chance to swim in any of them, as the weather was bad over Easter. Incidentely, We were the only Brits staying in the hotel. It was mainly Spainsh families, but I believe during the summer months the British tour operators take over.

I nearly forgot to mention, the food at Playa park is excellent. I think I gained a few pounds during my stay.

The highlight of our holiday was an organized siteseeing trip to Barcelona (went once before to Barcelona-alone and got lost) it was excellent. I'm in love with Gaudis house and the park. Our guide was brilliant. The trip was with the Plana bus company. They pick up from bus stops all over Salou. I cannot believe how much of Barcelona we saw in one day. It was amazing. It is a beautiful city.
