Hi
I see from an earlier post that a taxi fare to the san miguel is about £50,
just wondering if that is the return cost or is it £50 each way.
thanks
Hi - we paid 35-40 euros taxi fare each way last year to San Miguel
anybody know ? JO
Well as far as I can remeber there are 2 floors, and when we went with my 7 year old, we had a the bottom floor. The rooms are basically the same size for family rooms. But if you wanted a quiter room, room 14/15 i think is good, which is away from the main pool, but still easy to get to.
Family of 4 , 2 adults , 2 chidren (girls) 11 & 13 which one should we stay at San Migual Hotel , Beach Club or The Galeon Hotel , 19th Aug 06 for 2 weeks . I understand they are all connected in some way ? Who's it best to book through for value for money ?
We booked on line with eclipse. Its part of first choice but it was much cheaper. We went to the Galeon but went to the san miguel hotel some nights. I would go to the Galeon. Much quieter if you want room around the pool without fighting for sunbeds but you can still visit the other hotels as they are all next door to each other..
On personal experience with kids of 13 and 7, i would recomend staying at the beach club, as it's much easier for the kids and yourselves as you can keep a close eye on them without them going too far, and if you make a request you can stay on the bottom floor. The hotel and Galeon are good, but when i stayed in the Hotel i found that the stairs were too much too climb every morning and night just for breakfast and dinner, as the lifts weren't that reliable. As for the best value for money, i really don't know. I have always booked direct with thomson which is quite expensive. But you may be able to shop around for cheaper, but do it soon as i have found that the rooms go really quick for this resort.
Looking forward to it now (even with 15 months to go) - anyone else thinking of going next August? See you there
Only 19 days to go.. San Miguel Beach club here we come. First time in Ibiza and A.I. anyone else going with 11 year old son? (grumpy, moody and "not goin in kids club". )loves football and swimming.
10 weeks today for us can't wait either
11 weeks 4 days I have already started couting down!San Miguel and the world of Zorro here we come :D
Only 18 days to go - cant wait. Even better only 11 working days. Parents, Grandparents and Kids (2 & 9). Lots of Sun (I hope), Sea and Sangria.
if thomson come up with a great late deal we might out as well at end of july but its unlikely.
Happy Holidays
Jst to cheer you up Ibizababy i am pretty sure that Zorro and Ollie are definetley out there last year as this is what they told me. I hope they are
With only 7 days to go before we fly to San Miguel Beach Hotel we are sitting here wondering what it will be like. Something I really want to know about is whether we will be able to get cocktails on the AI. If not can someone tell me how much they cost? As you can tell we are all getting excited....
I only ever had cocktails in the Western Saloon, which were included in the AI. There was a choice of about 5 or 6 including s*x on the beach and Pina coladas etc. They only come basic without all the cocktail brollies and fruit, but ceratinly come with a kick!!! especially the ones made up by Jose. Have fun, we were there this time last year. We go again in 8 weeks & 1 day!!
Thanks Molliemo for such a quick response. As you have been before can you tell me if all drinks come in silly little plastic cups. Especially during dinner and in the evening.
around the pool bars, like the Western saloon all the drinks are in plastic cups, for safety reasons, even at night when all the entertainment is outside. Having said that, they don't skim on the measures, they will fill the plastic glass almost to the top with spirits But in the hotel bars and dining rooms the drinks are served in proper glasses. If you go up to the hotel bar on the 1st & 8th floors you can get a drinks in a nice long glass!!
As Molliemoo said, cocktails are available on the ai (as is everything). The best 2 bars for cocktails are adjacent to the hotel pool - lovely and cool during the hot afternoons,- and the bar on the 8th floor. The bar on the 8th floor does a wide range of cocktails, - they had about 15 on the list last year. But even if the drink you want isn't listed they will still make it for you. Both of these bars will give you a glass to drink from if you ask, but the 'cool' bar next to the hotel pool will not let you take it outside for safety reasons. The 8th floor bar does not open until about 9 o'clock in the evenings.
When you get back can you let us know if Zorro, Ollie and Natasha are there this year please?
Have fun, - YOU WILL NOT REGRET BOOKING THIS HOLIDAY!!
hi - just to let you know that they are all back this year - I have spoken to someone who is working there last week and everything is the same - Jax has joined the entertainment team also
