Hi, we have just got back from Sharm, we stayed down the road at Dreams Beach but met some people staying at the Sharminn Amerein when we were on a trip. They said that the hotel was fine, pretty clean and what you would expect from the brochures.
However we had a couple of pick ups from the hotel and the only down side that I can see is that it is out of the way, although you do have 'Alf Leila Wah Leila' a newish development of shops and a couple of small bars/restaraunts right across the road (prob 3-4 mins walk). Not much there but would suffice if you couldn't be bothered to go into Naama every night.
Hope you have fun ... by the way the other thing to say is 'La Shokran' which is just no thanks ... said a couple of times and they usually leave you alone with a smile.
we are going to sharm for the first time on thursday and staying at the sharm inn amarein... anyone got any advise and reviews on the hotel?? would be very greatfull..
Its a small but very pretty hotel in Hadaba, round the corner from Mexicana, Viva etc ( so check those threads for map, location, local activities information etc ). Rooms are done in an Oriental theme, nice pool but not on the beach. I guess they probably use a shuttle service to get to a beach nearby.
Myself and my partner had a two week holiday last march staying at the Sharm Inn Amrein. It was the best holiday we have had. The hotel itself is about 4 miles outside Sharm so a taxi is needed to get into town. However no worries here, you will see them all the time and we never paid more than 20 Egyptian for the trip. However a tip, there are two fellas who are always parked outside the hotel and are very reliable and cheap. Use them, they will also change sterling for you on the qt at a better rate. The hotel itself is quite small but absolutely fantastic. The rooms are spacious, clean and air conditioned. The pool area is lovely, very clean and the lad who was always poolside is very friendly, speaks good English and if you ask him any night he will keep a couple of sun beds for you the next day. Just give him a couple of quid at the end of your stay.
We were on half board and the food was well prepared and very good. The menu repeated itself after 9 days, so enough variety. The head waiter will always look after you if have a laugh with him, and the lad cooking the omelettes and pancakes is a real star. All the staff are friendly, helpful and like a joke.
The bar area is nice. by the pool, and the lunchtime food is great. The only minus thing I would mention is that on the first couple of days the head barman tried to diddle us with the change. When we pulled him up he came over all inocent, but they have a chap who runs the hotel and he spotted what was going on. He had a quiet word with the barman and that was that, no more problems. It didn't spoil our holiday a bit, just watch your change. We went with Thomas Cooks and went overnight on one our their trips to the pyramids, best experience ever, (except when Liverpool first won the European Cup), we also went quadbiking and one a one day sailing and snorkelling trip. All were tremendous. We found a superb beach at Sharks Bay. Takes about 20 mins by taxi from the hotel, cost us 40 Egyptian each way. The taxi will come back for you at whatever time you agree, no worries. You can snorkel there, lovely beach bar and there is a dolphin that regularly swims into the bay and will swim around you. Lovely place, but get there before 10 to get beds.
If the hotel is as good as it was when we went you should have a lovely stay. Let me know how you find it, hope this helps.

I am also going to SharmEl Sheikh, and will be staying at the Sharm Inn Amarein also.
