Does anyone know which is the best way to travel from Kuala Lumpur and Singapore (and back again)?
Not sure whether train or plane would be best.
Thanks.
Its about 6 hours by train but was very cheap when we did it a few years ago.
We went on the train and it was about 6 hours. I actually really enjoyed the journey, it's not that scenic but it was an experience and far less stressful than a flight.
You do have to get off at the border to go through immigration. It does take a while but they opened up plenty of queues and there is a specific one for foreign visitors.
I can't remember the cost, but I do remember having to book it in advance (might have changed since 06). This would mean a trip to the train station the day before or earlier, however that was easily done on the bus or via taxi.
Both Singapore and KL are great cities. I remember going into an English bar in KL (yes I know, how silly) at about 4pm in the afternoon just for a drink.......we came out at 10pm absoutely hammered and stumbled to McDonalds before heading back to our Hostel. I blame the Tiger beer 2 for 1.
HIC.
