Hi Michelle .

Thats fantastic news . Do you know much about these executive rooms and where they are.
I still cant believe they honoured our request for 1105 . Excellent service I have to say . I did drop your name again at reception on arrival but he already had our keys ready :rofl

It did seem hotter than normal for that time of year but may of been because there didnt seem to be as much breeze as sharks bay. There did seem to be a lot of people talking about having the "trots" but mine seemed to be more than that . I can normally shrug those things off very easily but had to spend a day and a half in bed feeling clammy , then shivery and generally feeling like I was going to die . :( Ah the cleaning lad was so sweet and concerned for me .
This was a first for me . I was horrified . Dont think I have taken more than an odd day out from school/work during my 45 years of life but Monday morning I had to ring in sick :(

I thought this year I would try and not put on my usual half a stone and lay of the deserts and bread so I was eating a lot of the fresh fruit salad and I've since been told it';s probably not a good idea due to the water content . Coupled with that lying in the sun all day did me no good at all.

;) Actually Lyn bulking up on that gorgeous bread and cakes is actually good for the runs. Its salad, fruit (esp melon) is water based. You should have seen my doctor friend :cheers Last year i didnt have the runs, but i decided that my GP here in the UK wouldnt shringe my ears, so wanting to say hello to him, he asked if he could do anything to me, and i said , do you shringe ears, yeah i can do, so he did, and my insurance paid up :rofl So i dont get what i want here in uk, i get it there.

Did the boys do diving?

Sorry Lyn forgot to say, never seen the executive rooms they are about $250-300 per night, and they are down near the diving club and beach. They are bigger than 1105 which was huge in itself, and has carpets so i am told. I will certainy tell you and take pics when i get back :tup

Ah well .Back to the half a stone on then next year . I knew somebody would come up with a good excuse for me :rofl

Yes they did a few days diving but another factor that put a dampener on things . Dave was very disappointed by the standard of service from Oonas .I wont go into full details because I dont understand the diving enough to pass on but he wasnt a happy bunny considering we spent £700 with them. Understaffed was mentioned though .

Hi Lyn

That has really surprised me with the oonas diving, they have such a good reputation and even speak to us, and i don't dive. I know plenty of friends we met through the years have had a great time. Sadly yours wasn't, and of course if they were under staffed then i suppose it would take its toll. But it is no excuse, money is precious. When i see them, i shall give em a kick up the jacksy for you :tup

No dont worry Michelle . Thats only Dave 's opinion . Its just one of those things and luck of the day really . They had one really good day , 1 mediocre day and one Bad one in rough sea's . He never complained just paid the money and put that one down to experience . They are probably better suited to the more experienced diver like Val not a family of holiday divers including a 12 year old .

forgot to say

they are down near the diving club and beach.

Thats a long run back to your toilet from the blue wave pool. :rofl

Hi Lyn

I have 3 pools near me that are quiet :D But i am nearer the sea so i am pleased about that. I am just thinking of that lovely walk to the DOME restaurant, being in 1105 i was in between the two. I am looking forward to it, i cannot see any rooms on the net of the exec rooms, so it will be a surprise when we go. My mum was happy for us, she said that we should have a free upgrade or a free holiday :tongue Well i can work on that one for next year maybe.

Only going to Sharm in the winter as a second holiday, hoping to go to turkey etc next year, we will have to see how the pennies go.

Michelle you wont want 1105 now anyway . I have put bad luck on that room . Best you stay away :D

I did email the hotel to make some suggestions to better the hotel, for example the fridges need upgrading to have an ice department in it as i hate my drinks without ice ;) and also i suggested they need to upgrade to flat screen Tvs as they are quite old now. They took my comments on board, so i will see if anything has changed by the end of the year.

I mentioned before about the lighting, where as it wasn't a no 1 priority for me, it was awful to put my war paint on in the evening when it was dark, and i also wrote and mentioned about the fact we hadnt got a British night last June, by November we had one. So they do listen :tongue As for entertainment that has never bothered me as i gate crash the hospitality of the Egyptians and on the shisha's and talk all night to them, but from teens point of view there really is only clubbing in Naama Bay or at the Sonesta club, which people have said its an hilarious experience. So far though we haven't been in the disco .Some people who we have met have gone to it, from our hotel it was a 10 mins walk.

speaking only of 1105 Michelle I felt the bathroom was in desperate need of a revamp . I wonder if any of the others have been upgraded yet . Other than that the room was brill but we dont really spend any time in there .

The boys did have a good night at Pacha but missed another night that the Italian entertainment team had arranged which was a shame . The problem is they dont tend to leave the hotel unless they get matey with other teens and there wern't really many others there. Dave wasnt keen on going to the Oonas bar after already spending the day there . Must admit that same guy on the saxophone every night by the main restaurant sent us to sleep everynight and if there were any suggestions to be made on the entertainment front it would be to arrange for at least a couple of professional acts (if you can call them that) to come in each week to break the monotony . Entertainment at A/I hotels in general if never that brilliant , especially in Egypt but trying to get a balance is one thing the Egyptians dont seem to have grasped yet .Also get rid of those horrendous tacky orange /yellow lights sorrounding the seating area at the bar by the blue wave pool. hidious and not very inviting . :rofl

stayed here from the 15th - 22nd april

the holiday was to celebrate our 20th wedding aniversary , we chose this hotel after reading the good reviews on here .

the flight was ok , as we were staying in naama bay we did not need any visas and we did not get hassled to get them . from stepping foot in the terminal building to standing waiting for our casses took about 3 minutes , (that must be record ).
i had emailed the hotel in advance to ask for room 1105 as recommended by derwentrocker they said they could let me have room 1103 next door as 1105 was taken , and i could have the free upgrade as a gift for my anniversary , so we arrive at the hotel i go to reception to get the keys for 1103 , but they give me the keys for room 136 , i think ok then they must have forgotten ill take a look at it before i say somthing , well i walk in and its massive just like having my own private villa , the best room ive ever stayed in .
we unpack then the door bell rings its 2 lads from reception with the biggest basket of fruit youve ever seen from the manager with his compliments ,
the next day door bell rings again another lad from reception with a chocolate gateau from the manager .

its quite a big hotel and the grounds are kept spotless clean , our room was close to the oasis pool and beach and we always got a sunbed .

ive only given the food 3 points as there was not a lot of choice for people who like plain food like my wife who thought it was a bit to fancy .
as for me i loved it, the english night they served cottage pie and yorkshire puds , there was pasta every night which was lovley , we ate at the citadel every night as it was the nearest one to our room.
the entertainment was the same as every were ive been in egypt rubbish , just the same man playing his saxaphone every night and the twirling man .
the location was perfect , a nice 20 minute stroll into naama bay past all the other hotels .
the staff were brilliant very friendly and helpfull always serving with a smile .
me and tracy dont normaly like the beach but this one is georgeous set among the palm trees realy nice .
this is an amazing hotel the best ive been to in egypt , id go back in a heartbeat .
already thinking of going back in november when its a bit cooler as it was 42c when we were there a little to hot for us .
its a shame we only had a week there .
