Thank you so much ~ I just love walking along the secluded beaches of South Goa just snapping at whatever catches my eye. Guess it's good that my son works for a Picture Agency so he's given me lots of tips. These were all taken with a Canon Powershot ~ I can definitely recommend the camera, so simple to use and such lovely pictures. Glad you enjoyed them :)

Stunning pictures, thanks for sharing them with us.

Is there any significance to the bowls of water (?) with flowers in?

Hi Jules ~ the bowls of water with flowers relate to the Hindi religion ~ these were all taken at Wildernest and the water/flowers are placed outside the small temples dotted around the place and also at the entrances to the restaurant, etc. I'll try to find out the exact significance, I should have asked at the time but it completely slipped my mind.

Thanks, they all look so pretty and the flowers look so precisely placed. Looks like a magical place, shall have to put that on my list of places to go to!

Hi, MadaboutGoa

Thank you so much for sharing those on a dreary Friday afternoon - just what I needed.

Would you recommend Wildernest? I'm thinking of going early Sept maybe just for 1 night. Perhaps it will be particularly lush after the monsoon.

Thanks Tracey

Here you go if you'd like to check out the website:

We visited in March this year, the forests were still very green and the drive up from Goa has some great views. The resort is open all year round but I would imagine September/October would be spectacular as there are many waterfalls in the area but obviously when we were there they were non-existant. It really does make a pleasant change from the beaches of Goa, so, so peaceful ~ it was definitely a highlight of our holiday and we will certainly make a return visit, although I am told leeches abound in the Monsoon season !!

Thanks madaboutgoa !

Brought back many happy memories of the southern beaches. The wildernest looked so beautiful, must give it a try. I thought I knew Margao but have never heard of Nostalgia, can you say where it can be found?, Iv'e seen a few of the Mario Miranda murals on my travels, love them.
Who says we southerners just stay in our isolated luxury hotels, and don't get out and about

Your photos are truly amazing, and the sunset ones, cant describe them in words cos they are so good.
Great to look at the photos when Goa still seems a good bit far away at the moment.
Thanks :D

your photos brought back lots of happy memories we recognised a lot of faces and places even the bull in the sea , we used to see one that was taken for a walk to the beech for a swim :D

Thank you so much for your feedback on my pics. Lassigirl, Nostalgia is just outside Margao. Here's the link to their website, the food is just wonderful. Chef Fernando is famous for his Goan dishes and he did the catering for the crew and cast of Bourne Supremacy.

John and Anita ~ the bull pics were taken on Varca Beach ~ he certainly enjoyed himself frolicing in and out of the water!!

Thanks MAG,
Will most certainaly be going to Nostalgia, on my next visit. I think that could be the same Water Buffalo bull, that I have seen and photographed, on Varca beach, but sadly I've never seen him in the sea.

All I can say i WOW. That place looks like heaven on earth!

Can you swim in the pool with the waterfall and the one looking out over that amazing mountain scape?

What wonderful stunning pictures, definately makes you want to go to Wildernest, that bedroom looks so lovely.

Never seen any of the cows getting in to the sea, that really must have been a sight to see :D

Hi Mardon ~ yes, you can swim in the affinity pool but the pictures are quite deceptive as it is rather small but you're right, the views from there are absolutely wonderful. We will definitely make a return visit in March. :P
The bull was definitely a sight to see ~ having spoken with Monica at Capricorn shack on Varca beach, she informs me that bull fighting used to be banned in Goa but now is legal, the bull in the water is actually used for bull fighting which will definitely not be on my agenda for next year. :!:
