OK - the answers to your questions:-
Towels are available at the pool and beach (they give you towel cards to exchange).
The kids club was open - we saw a couple of girls wandering around with a few kids, I'm sure it will be more established by October.
They have really nice salads and stuffed veg in the restaurant, also on international night they had vegetarian pasta dishes etc.
We did swim off the jetty it's really deep - one day it was choppy and the jetty was like a theme park ride - it was too wobbly to go in by the steps so you had to just jump!!
I went with all adults and it wasn't half term so there weren't many kids, there isn't much for them to do at the beach but they have activities at one of the pools.
We didn't bother with the visa said 'sinai' only everytime we were asked why we didn't have one (they did ask a lot but still let us in).
When you go to the beach you will pass a few shops, bars disco's, we didn't try them though - we went into Sharm old town one night to shop - it's not far away by taxi, then spent a couple of nights in Naama Bay using the hotel bus.
Roll on July 20th!
We have booked for the 2nd week of June, so its very good news to hear more good reports, I don't suppose that your friend get any photos that can be uploaded for all to see.
Hi Ron, Will ask hubby to see if he can ask him to email me some, but not being very techno minded may take me until june to upload them! How do you feel about coping with heat? The chap who went said that everywhere is airconditioned so indoors should be ok. He also said that he tipped barman on first day and never had to ask for another drink again!! Good strategy I think! Also the poolboy was very attentive after tipping and saved their sunbeds every day. He said the beach wasn't up to much (manmade I think?) and sunbeds on beach were quite scarce if you are not there early, but the reef off the beach is supposed to be amazing for snorkling so must pack my flippers!
As for the heat im not bothered about it as im going to be either under the water or in the pool but its my six year old that i will have to watch but saying that they are all vetrains of turkey in August!
Looking forward to going only 81 more days to go (Sad i know)
Ron
I know that a lot of British companies use the St George, but am not sure about other nationalities - any ideas?
I don't fancy diving - but did try a little bit of snorkelling in Dom Rep. Should I buy Snorkel gear out in Sharm as it could be a lot cheaper.
I think youre at the St George at the same time - I'll be the one sitting near the Bar at night - needing frequent alcholol intake - or whatever substitute is available.
Taffyman
Well i should be easy to spot due to my wearing either my Invicta Divers Tshirt or my AquaPro Tshirt at least one of the days.
Ron

sjbrody: Have you seen the Photos from thier site?
Also for you divers out there i have been in contact with the Azure Diving who are based at the beach, still waiting for more info but prices looked good when compared to others, that is assuming thier equipment is safe.
Ron
Hi,just booked to go to St George at the beginning of October. We will be celebrating 30 years of wedded bliss while we are there. Hehe, thats more than a life sentence!Any idea what sort of temperatures to expect in Oct.Thanks Helen
I have also booked for this hotel TODAY I am so exicting. I am flying from Dublin on the 13th aug 06 for 7 nights!
Done a search on google and found some lovely pictures of the hotel, it looks really nice. Im just concerned that i got this holiday for cheaper than i had thought! It worked out @ £500 each which i though was FANTASTIC! I just hope we r all not disapointed. Hopefully someone will have some nice pictures to show us soon!
Joanne. xoxo
I have just been reading on tripadvisor a review from someone who
went to this hotel from Leeds. He has rated this hotel a 2 or 3 star.
This as really got me worried now. I did receive an email from a gentleman that stayed at this hotel and he rated it a 4star plus. I cannot
understand what is going. People definately have different expectations.
I am travelling in august with my family and really looking forward to it.
lets be real here, some people think that 4* means they are going to be staying at the London Hilton and when somthing small goes woung such as they cant get two sun loungers together they get the hump, go with an open mind and remember that standards differ between countries, im sure that the locals will be has helpfull as possible, try not to worry your selfs think of the sun. The fact that the company own a chain of hotels should go some way to easing the worry.
There are a few new pictures and reviews on Trip Advisor site. We are going in July and have only read 1 bad review. I think if we go with an open mind we will all be pleasantly suprised (hopefully!!) As I've said before, my hubbys workmate went in Feb and had a fantastic time. Being used to AI in the med (and getting fed up with it) I am looking forward to the adventure of having all new experiences in a new place. You know the saying - you can't please all of the people all of the time!
Yes i think your both definately right. I have been to many hotels too that were all inclusive, and basically had a good time at all of them. Anyway the gentleman that emailed me really rated the hotel he said there is a few shops down the road but the main night life is in naama bay.
