Hi brownetts. We stayed there in Oct. 98 .Looking at various websibsites it has had a revamp as it needed it.The resort itself is a couple of miles to the nearest town Falmouth.Dont believe them when they say its a 10 minute walk, it took us at least one and a half hours,The beach is lovely and is guarded by security so you aren't bothered by the local people selling there bits and bobs .Cannot comment on wot its like now as its had a major revamp .I hope this helps you ..Regards Stevie

I have just returned from the Starfish Trelawny (stayed 7th Dec - 14th Dec) and really enjoyed it.

what type of rooms are you booked in?

Give me alist of wuestions and i will answer them for plus a few tips as well !!!

We eat only in the buffet as my partne rdidnt eant to pay extra to eat at the italian (there was only 2 couple eating in thee the whole we were there and the japanese restaurant as well.we ended up meeting with a good crowd of couples some of them eat in there but they said it wasnt worth it for the extra $10 pp.

The buffett has everything from kids dishes to goats curry - you have to try it its lovely ! and beef, duck, pork, etc.I#They say you have to pre book into the buffet, but all we did was sneak in by the pool side as the queues were horrindous.

Anything i can help you with please ask !!!!!

overall it is fantastic and the Thomson Rep Pauline was great, you can hear her laughing 3 miles away !!!!! fantastic !!!

Hi Dave,

Is this hotel worth going to - yes i really enjoyed me and my fiance went (i am 28 and he is 37 and we left our two year old at home but the hotel genrally is for family

Is the kids club ok for a 2yr old - i didnt go into to look by#ut i idid notcier that the children reps were aways taken them out for walks and heard no complaints from other families.

Hotel rooms seem to have been slagged off a little ? is this true - if you get a amountain view room, most of them are ok, however we notcied that most of them had loud air conditioning units and quite a few people did complain.it is worth paying the extra for a sea view.either do this before you go or once you have checked in as reception will try and move you (if you are nice to them!)

Any good movie channels on the tv ???, peace when the little one is asleep -we stayed at the bar until 1am but i did notcie that during 9-10 there was at least good movie on ,also i am sure there achildrens cartoons on as well, as we kept watching them so yes .

hotel food ok - as before i thought the hotel food was ok, on the left handside as you go down the wee steps to the buffett there is hot food on your left whcih is the childrens food, such as hotdogs, ravioli, spagheeti, plenty of fruit as well and yoghurt, i`m sure that your 2 year old will like at least something - mine is very choosy !!!

anyway hope this helps you

Great, thanks for the answers.....

Bigger problem at the moment, my daughters nursery has had an out break of chicken pox... So we are keeping her at home for a couple of days hoping that she has not caught it !!!!!!! As we wont be going if this happens.

But thanks for the answers, if we overcome the chicken pox scare then i can look forward to a good break

thanks again

hi
We stayed at the Trelawny beach a few years ago but looking at the brouchers they seem to have done it up a bit. The hotel was quite basic but very clean. The beach is nice, the food is ok although not much choice. The staff are lovely. The resort is a bit isolated so you will need taxis to get around. Dont miss the Dunns River Falls great experiance. Make sure you dont get the rooms above the service entrance as you are kept awake at night with music from the bar over the road then woke at about 6 in the morning with the hotel workers coming to work. hope i have been of some help if you need any more info let me know.

The starfish is a great hotel. i visited there 2 years ago, and was 16 years of age. I had a really good time, and had a lot of fun. The tv in the hotel is good, with programs such as friends will and grace, and stuff like that.
The rooms are ok, not fantastic, but comfy for a two week holiday.
Theres plenty of activities to do such as wall climbing, sumo wrestling, and pool, in the swimming pool.
Hope it helps
