always take a bottle of hp fruity sauce.
they never have brown sauce, and if the do it, which they dont usally, its always the brown sauce boring type not the fruity type!!!
eggs for brekky are not the same without it or ketchup!!! yukk
their equivalent is "apricot jam" nope that just is not marmalade!!!
This year we packed all our pillows (yes there are 4 of us !!!) They really do help us to sleep a lot better and they are ideal for packing last and holding everything in place in your case ...& they don't weigh much. Just make sure you put them away before the maids come to tidy your room.
A good cork screw is a must as the cheap type provided SC are not up to much
An ice tray .... just in case there are none in the fridge. Needed to add ice to the G&Ts
A recent addition to our "must take" list has been a small funnel !!!!! Any guesses what for ??????
x lassi
Could I be that dishonest ??????
Do you use it to pour your duty free in to a smaller bottle/hip flask so you can fit it in to your handbag, ready for a night out??
i have sometimes taken my pillow tooooooo.
oh and earplugs.
you always get the neighbours in the hotel that dont mind banging the doors, or slamming around and laughing loud and talking loud either really early in the morning, or very late at night, and everything seems to echo!!!
I have to admit to taking my travel kettle and mugs. Another thing I never leave home without is one of those plastic fold out peg thingy for your smalls. I find it great for hanging the swimwear on to dry and last year we managed to hang the towels off it to dry out too. They are useful as they usually have a hook so you can attach them to the back of a chair or just hang them up somewhere
i take a filling and crown repair kit! nothing worse than toothache!
Heinz Ketchup.
a couple of plastic bowls for the kids cereal as the ones we had last year were more like plates
The hubby takes his swiss army knife with all the diddy attachments (in the suitcase), goodness knows why because in all the years, I've never known him use it.
Passing through East Midlands Airport 2 weeks ago, a guy in front of me going through the hand luggage scanner, he got pulled over when he had a pair of vicious looking plyers with some screw attachment on them, wrapped up in "bubble wrap" and a knife in his bag....needless to say, they were taken off him, but he was most "put out" about these plyers and wanted to know if he could collect them at some point on his return....he was on the same flight as me to Malaga, so what the heck he wanted with these plyers is mind boggling....but don't these people read a newspaper or know about the security measures in place or answer truthfully at the check-in desk when they ask if you have any sharp instruments etc.?
Anyway, this guy caused a bit of a hold up and I had a bit of a laugh with the security guard about it, who told me that he had a box full of "forbidden articles" including taking a meat cleaver off a guy the day before.
I'd have never believed it, if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes.
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
Ah-ha! Thanks Lancs Lass - you've just reminded me,
She was most upset when she was told that no livestock are allow on board!!!
She nearly cancelled her holiday, but managed to find someone from home to come and collect and look after it for a week.....
Denny
Could it be for pouring water from those 5 litre bottles into the kettle? Or even into smaller bottles to take to the beach?
Decanting your own beer into the hotels bottles so it looks like you got it at the bar? lol
Maybe it's for making your own shower on the beach?
For making sandcastles?
A hat?
A Hearing aid?
Madonna fancy dress costume?
Hubby thinks it's for decanting the free drinks from the mini bar into bottles
Yes we use it for filling up the smaller bottles of water from those huge ones that are rediculously cheap in the supermarkets. I was sick of flooding the apartment every time I tried to balance the small bottles by the sink. We keep the smaller bottles in the fridge and even freeze some of them to go in the cool bag.
On the topic of knives getting through security we recently visited Rome and were waiting to get into St Peters where they have the same scanning equipment for bags & personnel as airports do. A spanish woman in front of us was furious that they took a large knife off her that she insisted was just for eating fruit !!!!!
Good idea John!
cool, can I have £100 please as my prize?
i take pillow covers...........
