You also get boats with a family on it and generally very elderly gran making pancakes to sell to people on boats. Same with gift items like jewellry and things like turkish honey. Also speed boat comes along and brings the watersports to you. One of my fellow guleteers wanted to jetski but we hadn't seen a watersports boat at all that week. He told our captain and before you know it someone had arrived with a jetski for him. Fabulous.
The other strange thing, well unusual, is at night it is so quiet, so dark moored up in tiny bays not accessible by any other means than boat (no beaches) that sometimes the moon can become something else entirely. If you catch the moon rising and it's full it will look huge and bright orange! Fabulous.
That's class!
I know milly molly, it's amazing how people find different ways to make a buck!! I must say it made my day seeing the boat coming, the lolly was delicious after hours of hot sun and swimming. I saw the boat towing the watersports too, ,I'd just forgotten about it until you reminded me sandc. I think if i'd have seen the granny selling pancakes I would have been screaming laughing
I was lying on the beach on the 10th June in La Carihuela and the cruise ship "Liberty of the Seas" left Malaga port and sailed across the "bay"....I think it was bound for Lisbon, Portugal.
Sanjiiiiiiiiiiiii
We did a one night gulet cruise from Marmaris and I couldn't stop laughing when the ice cream speedboat appeared! It was a bit expensive, but you just had to buy one.
That brings back memories of the ice cream boats in Turkey, I have seen a strange sight, not in the sea though, it was in the river nile, me and hubby were looking over the side of our Nile cruiser admiring the sunset, when a large dead cow floated past !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yuk
luci
Coming out of Gocek harbour we saw a house on a boat! I have a photo somewhere I'll try and find it, it was amazing, apparently they were transporting it to its new permanent base, how cool!

Glad I saw an Ice-cream boat, not a dead body Luci!!! Don't think I'd have fancied seeing the dead cow either ShirleyV.
Basically there was 6 of us on a 'jolly boys outing'. We took the 60 year old barman with us from our local who had never been abroad before.
On our boat trip was a young family who had done the trip the week before. One of the young lads told us "the ice cream boat will be along in a minute". Sure enough the ice cream boat duly turned up.
Half an hour later the youngster informed us that "the banana boat willl be here soon".
The old barman is still waiting for a geezer flogging bananas to turn up!!!!
True.
Yes, we've ordered freshly cooked crab on the turtle beach/mud bath trip. You put your order in on the way and pick it up on the way back. It was delicious mmmmmm
First time on Ibiza and we walked along the beach of Playa Den Bossa on the first afternoon. We didn't realise just how close to the sea the airport is! Suddenly a huge DC10 jumbo comes in, it was so low as it passed over the beach the eddies it created sucked vortexes of water from the surface of the sea and there was a trail of tiny water spouts following the flight path. It also lifted sand from the beach in the same way!
Glad I wasn't there to see that, I'd never fly again!!!
We were on a boat trip in Jamaica last year when a man appeared beside the boat on a kayak selling carved wooden figures. We were a fair way out too, couldn't believe it!
hi ive seen a pram (oh it was mine my mum and dad didnt know about polution etc they thought it was a good way to dispose of it) ..... years ago.
My mum and sister the other year saw a dead donkey floating down the nile in egypt, could not believe it poor donkey...
Hubby is no the strongest of swimmers. When in Cozumel we decided to try our hand at snorkelling. Being sensible I stayed reasonably close to shore and kept popping my head up now and again. Clever clogs was enjoying so much, he didn't lift his head for about 20 minutes. When he surfaced he removed his goggles and the look on his face when he saw where he was, was definitely the strangest thing I've ever seen at sea.
I saw a dead sheep in donegal ....thats in Ireland
