I saw some suitcases being fished out of the canal in Venice - apparently a water taxi driver had accidentally dropped them in.

On a slightly different note, I was very shocked by all the nudists building 'forts' out of the stones on the beach in Fuerteventura. There's really no need to bend over so much when you're not wearing pants!

Many years back we did a glass bottomed boat tour in Majorca. 2 hours on the boat and we never saw one fish (which is quite remarkable in itself) all we saw was a constant procession of beer bottles on the bottom. We wondered how come there were so many so far out but then we saw the barman on the boat pouring beers and then dropping the empties over the side!

Not quite the sea, but so far this week have seen two of the large wheely bins and one of those four person cycle-buggy things you can hire (to run pedestrians down and get in the way of cars etc) being fished out of the canals here in alcudia, obviously a few drunken frolics for somebody.
Also whilst having a picnic down at a small cove nearby with friends not so long ago one of them pointed out what looked like a seabird trapped in netting. I ran across the stones in attempt to do my bit to save wildlife only to find it was a diver who must have come around from the next bay. So glad I didn't get as far as dashing into the water for supposed rescue before I realised, but am still trying to live it down! Should have gone to Specsavers! :whoops

when i was in Zante 3 years ago, we did the boat trip around the island, we passed a small cove... right in the middle of nowhere... and there was a tv on the very tiny beach, ive often wondered where it came from, as we were miles away from any kind of civilisation... it just looked really funny! :rofl

One year in Halkidiki we went on the famous Pirate cruise , we had been on it the previous year and had spotted some dolphins following us , however this year a girl said "look mummy a dolphin" so everyone looked around to see if there was any dolphins only to see a dolphin shaped helium balloon flying across the sea. Its was quite funny at the time. :)

Not exactly strange if you live there I suppose, but this year whilst sat on the beach in Cala Milor, we watched the fire plane landing on the sea, loading with water, taking off again and dumping the load a little further away. Obviously practising but it was amazing to watch.

It would have been really funny (or not) if the pilot had changed course and dumped the water over the beach!

Sarah :)

Oooh...wouldn't you be soooo tempted to do that if you were the pilot?
(I know I would! :haha)
