Is that per portion or per 100g? I did try a R.C class and got confused about the fat content.
Reply
Its per 100g, Rosemary Conley works on 5 grams of fat or less per 100grams of product.
Reply
Yes, deffo 5g per 100g - not 5g per portion,

Thanks for that. Does that mean you have to scrutinise every label before you eat something? What about the sugar or calorie content?

Hi peeps

I too always look at the 5g of saturated fat rule. Only problem is I cannot see this in a Tia Maria and coke

But hey, I go the gym 4 times a week, twice spinning, once boxercise and once in the gym (crosser and treadmill). I sooooooo wish it come easy.

Good luck to everybody on this thread :D

i started my diet 10 weeks ago and have done fantastic, i never everthought i would go from a size 12 to an 8 in that amount of time!!
i have got sick of people saying wow how did you lose the weight that quick, you cant be eating!!!! but i do !! this is my plan........

to lose weight and keep it off, do this prior to your holiday, the hardest one is not to eat bread! that will make your stomach flat, so no bread for the duration , you can make exeptions, for garlic bread, nan bread occasionally but no normal bread

dont eat after 7 every day, and be strict ( pm ) that is :D

eat all bran for brekie every day get your system up and running, makes you regular,

have ryvita, or crisp bread x 2 for dinner with your fave topping, and if your still hungry have a cup of soup,

and for your tea have a big meal, anything you want, even a chinese, do this with no cheats, like chocolte of crisps, or alcohol, for a period of approx 6-8 weeks before holiday,

do 50 - 60 sit ups every night before bed, leg lifts 50 on each leg every night up it or lower it depending on your fitness, and see the difference!!

hope this plan helps someone, it really did it for me, only 4 more weeks then i can enjoy a fry up! :bow

Hi I joined weight watchers 24 weeks ago so I could lose a bit of my baby weight(although my youngest is nearly 3 years old) in time for my holidays in june so far I have lost 40lb and I'm about half way there I've also gone down 3 dress sizes so far and although my hubbie is moaning cause of all the new clothes I need and how much it is all costing him I'm enjoying it and finding it all fairly easy cause if I want a treat I can I just fit it in. I'm also loving all the praise I'm getting off family and friends its my sons 5th birthday at the end of the month and he is having a party there is going to be alot of people there that I have not seen since christmas and I can not wait to see if the notice how much I've lost.

Hi "Summer Dieters" !! Its great to read all your success stories, they are an inspiration. I have been "naughty" today and ate a bag of hulahoops and then a Mr.Kipling mini carrot+walnut cake :!: And no..... I didn't check the fat content  . Wasn't even hungry (coz I'm eating a well balanced diet!!) they were just there and I felt like it. Well it's no use :bawl about it, I'll just get back on the straight and narrow after Easter weekend.

Hbrac - All "professional summer dieters" check the back of every packet, that's why it takes so long to go shopping!!.

Kazee - I hope its diet coke you're putting in that Tia Maria

Jodie - Enjoy your fry-up girl, you well deserve it

Shellwalsall - Wow, you deserve a new wardrobe. Well done you, I'm soooooo jealous :!:

I dont eat breakfast, but today for lunch had 2 wimpey cheeseburgers and 1 chips, and a ice cream float.

Then for dinner a Asda curry!!!

This is a bad day for me.

My vice daily is drinking approx 2 litres of coke.

A normal day is: lunch at 11am, of a baguette with ham cheese and salad cream, at 2pm ish a sugar fix of a cadburys caramel, or something like that, and usually a roast at around 6pm.

hi joolz, when do you go away? xx

Hi Jodie32, I go away in 14wks. I know that seems plenty of time to lose a further stone but I think years of dieting and my age are now against me  !! I had three children in the space of 4 1/2yrs so don't ever expect a flat stomach even though I have been a regular gym attender for 3 yrs. Last year I turned 40 and my goal was to be under 9stone which I reached :yipee (and then my "friends" told me I look too thin :!: ) I'm now sitting at 10st 3lbs and want to be 9st for hols so I can fit into all the new clothes I bought for my 40th. We are also going all inclusive which means I'll put on about 10lbs in Gran Canaria. Ain't life a b**** :!:

P.S Jodie 32 - where are you off to in 4 wks time then with your svelte like figure  :!:

Hello peeps...well I know what to eat and what not to eat.Trouble is ,I am a stress eater and a chocoholic...there I have said it  Sounds like Overeaters Anon. It's that first taste of chocolate ...trouble is I can't stop at one.Sounds familiar? I think I will have to cut it out completely. Now today, I have followed your advice and have only eaten stuff that has less than 5% fat per 100g. So far so good. Now I will have to scan the supermarket shelves for low fat foods. Anyone got any fave foods that fit the bill...tried and tested to help me on my way? I really don't want to waste loads of dosh again at SW.

I love Covent Garden soups - they come well below the 5g per 100 rule.
Pizza by pizza express which you can buy from Tesco / Sainsburys - cannot remember which but there are a couple of varieties which are under 5g fat (says on back of box)
must read this thread more often - I am really fed up today as I have done nothing but eat chocolate due to boredom and am really annoyed with myself as I lost 5lbs last week..
Must get back on track. Only 13 weeks to holiday.

Covent Garden soups are the best - i live off them!

When i'm trying to lose weight i'll have fruit salad and yogurt for breakfast and a soup for lunch and dinner, the only snacks i'll allow myself are fresh fruit/veg. Sounds pretty boring but those fresh soups are delicious, it's hard to believe they're also healthy :D .

It works for me anyway - i'm now slimmed down and ready for my holiday pig out! I always sort out my own diet, as long as you know something about food/nutrition it's the best way. You can find something that suits your tastes and lifestyle and it's much easier to stick with.

I think that I have seen them in the chiller cabinet. How much are they and how many servings per carton?
Reply
They're around the £2 mark i think but Sainsbury's and Tesco (probably others) often do 2 for £3 offers.
I get 2 servings out of a carton as they're normally very thick and filling.
