Hi Ladies
My son is out at the moment but when I see him (maybe later, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week who knows I will ask him. Here are a few thing that I know he eats when he comes home after working a late shift at the gym.(That's if he does come home and doesn't go straight out clubbing)
Ready Brek and Porridge are great for breakfast as they contain carbs which will give you energy fist thing but will also be burnt off during the course of the day. Late in the evening as Sydney says a veggie stir fry is good or grilled chicken breast (without the skin) or grilled / poached fish. I know it is hard later in the evening because your knackered and just want to eat and then relax but as long as you stick to things that don't contain carbs . Also pitta bread is not too bad, so perhaps you could make fajita style thingys but in pitta bread.
Hope this helps for now until I can speak to my son
Rgds Jackie
Cheers Jackie
Thanks again Jackie
Jackie - Good luck with your move to Tenerife (read your thread elsewhere) Hopy your son will continue to give us tips
Alsbaby- we are all with you By the time you go on your cruise you'll be posing for that camera like a model girl
Sydney - heard of the plan I think, is it "meat day, pasta day" etc? It's worth a go if it gets you motivated to start
bluemax - What, sweets before dinner
I don't recommend the quorn pepper "steaks" I had last night
The lamb style chops are nice though! Yum! I'm eating a tomato and herb sausage style barm cake at the moment! Mmmmmm! I wanna be a vegetarian again!
Joolz
I'm sat here with a bowl of porridge then I'm off to the gym! I think I'm going to suffer later as I'm still aching from Tuesdays session
Have a good day all
Meerkat - so many holidays to look forward to and you're going to look stunning for them all Your hard work has really paid off, well done. My husband swears by swimming (he swims a mile most days. He thinks he's "Man from Atlantis"). I can't be bothered shaving "me bits" every other day to go.
Jackie - (If only!!)
Dramaqueen - the steaks were more like burger type things. I looked for those lamb chops but we didn't have them, I'll see what Tesco have to offer today.
Jackie - thought it was too good to be true! Typical
Hi all - thanks joolz! Wasn't at the gym last night, so will go tonight - feel guilty now if I don't go. Stuffing my face with oatcakes at the moment as I have been at a meeting all morning and I'm starving! I'll work it off tonight I hope. 6 weeks tomorrow since I have any alcohol so I hope I don't get tipsy too quickly on holiday!!!
I only got back on plan yesterday and i feel beeter already(are we not allowed to mention the plan?) oh well i am red and green days. Just had my dinner of scrambled eggs with cheese on 1 slice of wholemeal toast and beans and i think i will have a muller light in a minute(dont know why though as i am not even hungry )think its just cos i can as it is free food.
I would say to anyone who like to eat BIG portions and still lose weight that this is the plan for you.
Keep up the good work girls
Kerrie
I'm nearly there though - i've nearly 4 weeks left and only got to lose another....2lb! Might push it a bit further though then i can pig out all the more on my favourite greek dishes mmm.

Got some lowfat bargains in Tesco today. Some of their fruit+veg is half price too.
Youngs Mediterranean Fish Bake (freezers) is half price £1.14, 147cals, its nice with veg and boiled potatoes. Birds Eye steam fresh meals (freezers) 2 for £3. Half price King Prawns £1.99, only you have to smother them in seafood sauce which is a no-no!. Tesco Health Living Chicken in Leek+Bacon sauce with mash (fridges) B.O.G.O.F £2.49+only 340cals.
I work 12hr shifts so I take all my meals to work so am not eating late at night so these are ideal things for sticking in the micro at work, beats canteen food.

Just sitting here wondering how everyone is doing(diet wise )
Marcuschap well done you!!!!! Only 2lb to go.How much did you lose all in all? And how did you do it?
I have just relized that i am only losing this weight for the weight i am going to store on hols(went away once and put on 12lb ) that was in 2 weeks.Life can be so cruel (to me anyway)
I will be back on track as soon as i get back though as i have a friends wedding in september and then my cruise in the november
Keep up the good work gals and guy(must not leave marcuschap out)

Now I've really got to be strict with myself, only 8 weeks to go and plenty of weight to lose still!
before this holiday, then put the inevitable weight on during your holibags, you'll end up with more to lose for your cruise. Chin up
Bluemax - its such a bummer when you put weight on just for one tincey wincey blip Chin up aswell
everyone. Alsbaby - but just think if you don't lose a few pounds Bluemax - its such a bummer when you put weight on just for one tincey wincey blip Chin up aswell
I used to be a heffer as a kid and when i decided to do something about it the weight dropped off but i think as you get older and if you don't need to lose much it's a real struggle !
I don't do any set diet but did learn a lot about nutrition in my teens so just make my diet much healthier by reducing fat content (an obvious favourite on here), carbs and sugar. I live off fresh veg, fresh soups, fish, fruit and yogurt during the week then allow a few treats at a weekend. I also keep alcohol strictly as a weekend treat and won't touch beer til the weight is comletely off.
3 and 1/2 weeks now so that last little bit should come off in that time, surely !
Finally got to speak with my son. Basically if you are training at the gym to lose weight rather than just getting fit then what Marcuschap72 says regarding his diet is ideal. It just boils down to eating a healthy diet and cutting out all the c##p (you know the things like Cadburys cream eggs MMmmmmm delish ) If you want to snack in between then stick to fruit, yogurts. The main thing is don't eat any carbs after 7p.m.
Joolz -Unfortunately ready meals (even the low fat diet ones) contain huge amounts of salt and sugar due to them being processed. Sorry you're all going to hate me for telling you all what you should and shouldn't be eating, but I am only trying to help honestly.
I spoke to him more about the carb intake after you have trained and that is basically for professional athletes and sportsmen/women who are training all day every day. It is to replace their lost energy quickly in preperation for their next training session the following morning. So as long as you stick to carbs for breakfast i.e. porridge or at lunchtime i.e. pasta/rice/potatoes you will have the evening training session to burn it off.
Hope this helps
Jackie
Well i don't go to the gym as i don't have time but i do work 55+ hours a week and spend 1/2 that time on my feet so that's gotta help i guess.
