Lallygirl. Thats amazing. Give her a pat on the back from me. She deserves it.

Val. I hope Rob gets better soon. You keep going though. Its horrible when you think you do really well and you dont lose an ounce. Been there, got the t shirt. What keeps me going? Probably the bottle of wine I drink ( :) ). No seriously, just think about next week when the loss will show. If not, try again. Sometimes, eating nothing is worse than stuffing your face and its not a good idea to diet that way on purpose.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Sarah :)

That's great about your work colleague lallygirl, tell her well done from all of us. I think it goes to show that when your mindset is right, you really can do it!

Now then. Who are these people, who in times of stress lose their appetite? C'mon and show yourselves! :D I am just the opposite, what the heck is wrong with me?

Ah well........

Im not one of those types either. I reach for the comfort foods when I feel stressed/depressed/tired/angry.........the list goes on. No wonder my weight fluctuates so much. I wish I could lose my appetite when I get stressed. Just before my holiday, id be a stick (the thought of flying makes me very stressed. Im ok once we take off, its just the take off that gets me all worked up  ).

Never mind. We'll just have to stick to the practical methods !

hi sand c you can get kudzu tablets from holland and barratt £9.99 and they do work they take the craving away and if you do have a drink you will find you dont need as much. my problem is i work with food and after drinking i stuff my face all day with the worst kinds of food ie crisps dipped in mayo and sausages with cheese and mayo. good luck with the kudzo.

Hiya trivium - you've made the first step of going there and getting your first weigh in and target, so well done you!

Jack, my kudzu tablets arrived in the post at work today - H&B online. I will give them a go. Only not today as I'm having some wine tonight cos I'm just a bit peed off with everything (see, there we go again, seeing these things as some kind of 'reward' when they really shouldn't be). I am like you though jack, it's not that I reach for crisps, nuts or takeaway at the time of drinking, but the next day (mayo, I love mayo  )

Well done Sian!! I decided to cancel my gym membership a couple of weeks ago because I wasn't managing to go often enough, and I thought I should do something else in its place or I would not manage to lose any more weight by myself. I joined a slimming club last week, and went last night for my first weigh-in. Lost 7.5lbs in the week so was well chuffed. Especially considering it was our wedding anniversary at the weekend and had loads of wine and a meal out!!! That loss it itself was a great boost and motivator for the coming week.

I found it really useful to plan a week's worth of meals in advance and count up what I was allowed, saving some of my "allowance" for the weekend. I found there was loads to eat and really nice recipes which were easy to make. I am a convert to slimming groups now, and think that the whole group thing is really going to help with my motivation. And knowing that you have to stand on those scales once a week...

Good luck for your next week's meeting.

Sarah - by the way I can also use any excuse to eat: happy, sad whatever - I used to see it all as a good reason to stuff my face with crisps and vodka! Hopefully no more though...feeling stressed at work at the mo, and have demolished a celery stick!!!!!!!

This sounds a bit weird, and might not work for weight watchers... but when I'm craving chocolate, I have a pickeled onion! It works on the slimming world plan... and it seems to take the craving away!

Had a banana and an orange for breakfast, then some yoghurt for snack and cheese on wholemeal toast for lunch... am going to do a stir fry for tea tonight, but I have work at 2.30, I've told everyone that they're not allowed to eat in my car anymore coz I'm trying to keep away from chocolate, the first few days are the worst!

Not weighing myself til Monday, I got weighed Monday morning, and I've only lost 2lbs so far, but I kept my jeans, boots and coat on... am taking them off next week for a bit of motivation after having a good diet week :)

Well done Sian. That first big step is such a major one. Just think when you reach your first goal (and yes, I said "when") you wont remember what all the fuss was about initially. :gluck You can do it, and put us all to shame  .

I still believe that I can do it myself with a lot of discipline and willpower. I have my exercise bike and ab toner and did alright last year. If it gets to the stage during the early part of the summer that im not getting anywhere then I will join the Rosemary Conley group that is local to me. They do an exercise class after each meeting. I did go to a few of the classes with my mum and sisters last year a few times (just for the exercise) and it was really good.

I am feeling confident at the moment. Ive had no bread today which is a big achievement. I do love my bread !!

Well done all.

I joined weightwatchers 3 wks ago and have lost 6 lbs so far. I am doing the core points and not finding it too bad, the hardest being not eating chocolate that is my down fall.
Good luck to everyone.
Apart from this site the weightwatchers website, then click on community, this is a forum, it is very good for hints, tips and recipes.
