This site is a godsend! we came back from a week in Cyprus on 9th July, 2 days later daughter was at the doctors with an ear infection (which still hasn't cleared completely). We are off to Crete on 15th August and are praying that everything is clear by then. Was unable to purchase Swim ear locally, but thanks to HT I ordered directly from Effective Care 2 for £8 and will be using this in future. My daughter does quite a lot of swimming and this is the first time in 11 years that she has had an infection We visited our local NHS walk in centre last night and they hadn't heard of it, neither had the pharmacist in out local Superdrug!!
Well Done
i have got some swim ear from sainsburys
Hello, I have seent he comments about the product "Swim ear", we are going away in June and had seen comments saying this helps so brought some. My son got an ear infection last year so want to try and eliminate it as much as possible. My husband put some drops in his ear last night after the shower to try them and said the burning was realy hot and painful and the children wouldnt be able to use them. Can anyone comment on this before I have to try them???
Welcome onboard
There are various products available for those that suffer from ear infections. Have you had a look in Boots or similar? Swim Ear is an alcohol based solution that aids with drying of ears after swimming thereby reduce the chances of an ear infection, although it won't prevent one. I've used it on occasions after diving and it works quite well. If there's a burning sensation, then I wouldn't use it. It shouldn't cause that unless there's an underlying problem I wouldn't have thought.
