a very good editorial in The Times yesterday
http://www.timesofmalta.com/core/article.php?id=236896
in summary says the Government should step in and protect Ta Cenc before it suffers the embarassment of the EU slaps them on the wrist.
Nice to see the editorial using my phrase of "do the right thing"
"Let us hope that it will not have to take the European Commission's involvement for this whole area at last to receive the protection it deserves - protection which Parliament's own Structure Plan had originally clearly intended."
smell of victory in the air

Heritage Superintendence warns Authority on Ta' Cenc
it says you can't protect each monument in isolation, but have to protect the surrounding environment. Nothing earth shattering about this if we were talking about the UK, but it is here !- hopefully this will stop even more of the plans

nice one ! I'll try it at the public enquiry (whenever they finally get round to one)

Dr Trump is the world expert on Maltese archaeology (or atleast the most famous), and it will be fascinating to hear his views on the temples, dolmens and cart ruts. If anyone wants to go, I can arrange tickets. Hopefully the event will not be disrupted by the owner's of Ta Cenc blocking the public right of way, as they did last summer

why negative ? The hope was that all of Ta Cenc would be included, not the cliff face, which was protected anyway. The EU had told Malta not enough of Ta Cenc was included originally, so they've added a bit that wasn't intended to be developed anyway
