Only looking in as I though I might go back to Ibiza next year and would do a bt of research. I've taken packets of pasta, rice etc abroad for my kids when they were younger (and baggage allowances more generous) & found it's cheaper here than in the Balerics for the same quality, British beef and pork is some of the best in the world, although I've never taken that as I thought it was illegal, did pop some bacon (non-water added variety which is easy to get here ) one year assuming that is still allowed. Who wants to spend their holiday food shopping anyway.
if you do want to sample local lifestyle and culture then a visit to the local market is a great way to do it. take a trip to the market in ibiza town to see fresh local fruit and vegetables that actually taste of the sun, fish so fresh they still have a gleam in their eye, and beef from asturias in the north of spain, pork and ham from extremadura and huelva and locally reared lamb - with no added dye or water!! then come back and tell me that british water (with added pork) is some of the best in the world!! shopping is an experience here that everyone should try - there's still a vibrancy about it as you chat with your neighbours - unlike your local tesco with its sanitised food, additives and all night shopping.

Why are you so hostile to new posters on this forum. Just because you have turned your back on the UK, doesn't mean we all have to. If we want to bring out a few products our kids like it's our perogative. I have been to Ibiza town and sampled the local 'culture', although some years ago. If your country has so much to offer why do you have to take such a bullying attitude ? Your way isn't the only way to holiday in Ibiza.
Please can we get back on a more friendly basis. Everyone is entitiled to an opinion and although some may not agree it is no reason to start bickering amongst ourselves. Perhaps counting to ten and then posting may help
