when on our travels round the island last year we wished we had thought of taking small presents out with us. We met a couple of inquisitive little boys who were helping their dad out in his field. They were dying for us to take their photo and loved seeing the result.
I am thinking of crayons to take out this time. Has anyone else done this? I know we would have to be very selective where we gave them out as I wouldn't risk being followed round by loads of children
You might like to check our Filo's site. There is a section on oleh-oleh (gifts)
Filo is a member of a Bali travel forum that I belong to. He's a retired teacher from Adelaide and now does a lot of work for some orphanages in Bali. He's had a lot of us sewing toiletry bags (everyone was individual) in most cases these bags were the only thing a child had of their own. He then delivered them... any excuse to go to Bali.
The question of prezzies for kids is often discussed. A lot of Aussie take small clip on kangaroos and koalas bought from at the $2 shop.
