HI can anyone please tell me the legal points of taking your grand child to goa
shell be 3 yrs old thanks
sharon
Do you mean your taking her on your own, without her parents?
I shouldnt think this will be a problem, ive only ever heard of places like the Carribean asking for parental consent if the child isnt travelling with their parents.
Yes we are taking her without her parents
No problem but it is advised you have a letter from the parent(s) confirming that you have their permission.
........ and make sure that you have full insurance for her, and carry bits and pieces of first aid that a youngster might need eg Calpol or equivalent, Waspeze, and very high factor sun lotion.
Agree with fwh, re. a letter of consent. We often take our grandson abroad with us, he's now 8 and although we had never been asked for it, we always carried it with us. That is until just before Christmas when me and him went over to France and Belgium for the day and wouldn't you just know that the one time I had travelled without the letter was the day Immigration stopped me and asked to see it, no problems in the end, but it could have been a bit awkward.
My friend sent her son off to Florida with his grandparents a couple of years ago, everything was OK until he got a bad chest infection (he has asthma and had his inhalers with him) and the doctor in Florida wouldn't give him any medication until he had spoken on the phone to the child's mum back in the UK.
