Amazing Pictures Arlene, thanks for sharing them.
At breakfast one morning we were sitting at the table by the pool and a team of locals came in. The men started climbing up the coconut trees. A few women had baskets on their heads The men were chopping down the coconuts and the palm leaves. I was totally intrigued and questioned the waiter.
"How many times does it get done each year?" I asked
"about 4 sometimes 5" replied the waiter.
"when do you know it needs doing?" I enquired
"A guest will tell us!" answers the waiter
astounded I said "Well how the heck would the guest know?"
"By the bump on his head" smiled the waiter.
laugh you may! but imagine the weight of a coconut falling from that height on your bonce!!!

Where did you get your lovely sarees?
great photos and memories for you!
The red one was the one that they provided on the "Go Wild Tour" see page 2 - 9th & 13 post down.
The Blue and Green one was bought for me by our Goan Friends as an engagement present, I believe it was bought from the Metro Centre in Margoa.
Take Care

What a fantastic report I could see the places, smell the smells, see the smiles on the faces of the Goans. Thanks for sharing it certainly put a smile on my face. Fantastic
Oh I miss Goa, we are trying to get away in Jan next year but the house renovations come first I'm hoping to get a last minute deal for four of us! What do you think the chances are? I'm deliberating between flight only to mumbai then fly/rail to Goa and stay at Emerciana in benaulim (it's very very basic, but we'll just sleep there) Apollo the owner is great and charging us 500 rps a night (that's a special cause hubby hung some doors for him earlier this year normally the accomodation costs 900 rps a night. There's no AC???? but Jan is a good time to go anyway (not too humid) No wedding this year though maybe next...... or........
Cheap package deal definately stay in the south though. Your
Thoughts are welcome......

worth reviving for all the new members- especially if they have not been to Goa yet.
Just a little update..... We will not be going to Goa this season but will be going again for four weeks in 2007 - 2008 season If you remeber from this very lonnnngggg report Mr ArltoGoa and I got engaged in Goa almost 1 year ago. (Wow it has gone mega quick).
One of reasons we are going for 4 weeks is because apart from eating all the lovely food, the sun , the sea and the beautiful people we want to find out about what we need to do to get married out there 2008-2009. Whewww! talk about planning ahead!!!!!!!
Now, I Know Linb and Mr Stella got married out there, so when the time comes I'm expecting lots of help and of course if any body else wants to put their two peneth' worth in I'm all ears.............
Oh yeah and have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regards
Arl
