Hi. We are going to Tenerife on 16 July TCX985K from Glasgow. According to the Glasgow Airport website this flight is due to start operating on 7 May 2010 but there was no sign of it leaving Glasgow today. Does anyone have any idea why, and when this flight will start to operate? Would like to watch it in the few weeks before we go to see if times change, any delays etc, and also try to figure out which inbound plane will then be used on this flight. :cheers

I don't think the Friday TCX985K/L flights commence until 28th May. Flights prior to that are a different flight number. They're operated by a Boeing 757-200. Times will be confirmed on your tickets when you get them and you can't go off flight history to check for delays etc as anything can happen on the day. We'll be able to indicate the specific aircraft registration the day before. They're all the same inside so it makes little difference.

Thanks Darren, that explains it! Will watch from 28 May! I know things change weekly depending on all sorts of circumstances, but it's still interesting to see when the flight actually leaves every week. Last year our flight time was brought forward nearly 2 hours, and we suspected this would happen due to watching the flight in the few weeks before. Just helps to pass the weeks until we actually go!

Would be keen to know the registration, will try to remember to ask the day before. Thanks again

we're flying with Thomas Cook to Dalaman, this year, so know it will be a no knee room scenario. I usually end up with the storage net imprint in my knees on TC flights.

however have noticed this last couple of years the aisle arm rests dont lift up any more. Flew with Monarch last year and Onur Air the year before and the aisle arm rests dont move - they were on the 3 and 3 seat set up. They used to, this used to help at least you could sit sideways a bit easier.

Is this the norm now maybe to health and safety rules or something.

I know its a daft query but if it helps with some comfort those 4 hour flights can feel like 6 when you keep fidgeting.

sarahbecky,

It's normal for the arm rests on isle seats not to lift up for safety reasons. This is to ensure passengers aren't ejected in turbulance. Arm rests in the middle do lift up, but not on all aircraft and specified seats for safety reasons.

Hi Can you give me info on TCflight to Sanford from Gatwick departing 10 sept 2010 and returning 24 sept 2010. We have booked in premium and have paid extra for flight seats together. Also, do they have a downtown check in on the return or do we have to check in at sanford airport?
Thanks for your help.

Aircraft will be a A330-200 as per the What Aircraft guide, Premium seats are located in the forward section of the aircraft.

As for Down town check in, as far as i am aware TCX dont operate this service currently so check in would be at Sanford, thats not to say it wont be implemented between now and then so keep an eye out.

If you have not received a letter from Thomas Cook regarding a change then assume everything will be as advertised with seat back IFE and 33" seat pitch.

Candyboo,

Unless things change, the aircraft will be coming in from Las Vegas (TCX043K/L). It's due in at 0815.
