well been back a week from my jolly hols and i was suppossed to be flying on a my travel plane but we flew out and back on a thomas cook plane witch i wernt bothered about flight was 30 mins delayed at newcastle but we made up for it in the air by landing 35 mins early so how happy was i but was 15 mins late coming back as we were flying int o wind but thomas cook done it again good flights their and back.
Same flight, same hotel and no doubt same transfer.
Manos £4353
Thomas cook £3265
A difference of £1088 based on 4 adults and a 14 year old in 2 double rooms.
Someone is raking in some extra profit.
We have already booked to fly out on the 1st Oct. 2008 (Wednesday), so I phoned TC to enquire what was happening regarding the change of flights. Girl on the phone for TC said "Yes, the flight appears to have changed, will get back to you".
Returning to the UK on the Thursday was OK, but if they are changing it to a Thursday departure, we don't get back into Glasgow untill the Friday morning, which is not OK.
TC have phoned back and said the Wednesday flight is still on from Glasgow, and they are going to send further confirmation of the flight.
Have checked a few "Cheap Flight" web sites, and they all show the TC flight from Glasgow as being on the Thursday, no matter what month you search.
Anyone know what is going on. I realise TC and MYT are still "merging", and maybe that is what is causing some of the confusion.
Regards
Kamari.
i have booked online with TC for May, but only paid a deposit. How can i pay off some of the balance, do you wait for them to contact you? I have only ever paid in full at time of booking before!
How can i pay off some of the balance
You can log into your account on the website (you'll need your booking ref no. and the email address you used at the time of booking) and then you can pay whatever amount you like off the balance
http://www.thomascook.com/content/help/help-lp/my-account.asp
This link will take you to your account section, you will then need - Departure date, Booking reference & Lead passenger surname to enter the secure area via the link at the botom of the page.

Have just tried the link to the 'my account' page using the booking ref I was given over the phone. I think I must be missing part of it though. The ref I was given starts X then 6 digits then B. There's a field on the my account page where it looks as if there should be another part of the code. Does anyone know if this is just a standard code? My holiday is next Aug and have tried the obvious S08 but didn't work. Any ideas?
Did you book online with TC ? If you didnt this may be the reason why you cant access the account ?
You will receive in a copy of your booking confirmation shortly and that will have the booking reference so hopefully that will give the full reference for you.

My ref no (which works fine on the website) has 4 digits followed by another 10 digits and there are no letters in it, the ref no you have is probably a temporary one (for phone bookings) and you might receive the main one when you get confirmation in the post, although I'm not sure if you have to book online to be able to access your account online.
Thanks for your replies. Will wait and see if I get an amended invoice soon.
When I go on the manos website now it seems you cannot fly to skiathos from bristol at all as they have removed bristol from the list when you type in Skiathos!
I rang manos/TC, and the girl said as you haven't had a letter saying otherwise, the flights will remain the same. So hoping that they will keep the flights for this year at least, dreading a letter turning up saying they have changed to gatwick or something.
Don't want this stress not really.
Manos site still has Skiathos from Bristol on website but it shows with accommodation. I'm not sure but I think your flight only will be okay.
Thomas Cooks flight website seems to just bring up their own flights not ones that are chartered from other airlines.
I have the same problem with the Edinburgh flight cant book the flight I normally get.
Hope your stress levels dont get to high
Lynn
When i put in where I want to fly to ie skiathos, then when i go to put the departure airport it only offers me gatwick and manchester.
Hopefully the charter flights will stay the same but you know how these things can change!
For some reason, no airline wants to fly out of Bristol to Skiathos!!
Out of my hands now really, just have to wait and see.
Hope you got yourself another suitable flight.
cheers

NOT THOMAS COOK.
at the time of booking i explained his condition to thomas cook smiling sales lady..smiled all the time until she had my cash.she said thomas cook wouldnt cover someone with cancer awaiting surgery so i said i would look on the net and perhaps wait until after his surgery to get travel insurance.she said fine when i have found something she will pricematch it...i never got chance to do that as over the next few days we found out the cancer has spread and he need intensive surgery and therapy etc .he will still be in hospital when due to fly.
i asked please could they change the date for me.they knew the situation.they said no pay 600 pounds to cancel or 400 pounds plus to change to somewhere nearer on a different date.
i just think its absolutely disgusting they wont even help even though they know the awful situation.plus they now have 250 quid of mine and i have nothing...oh on top of everything else going on right now they said they will take me to court for the rest and baliiffs will come to recover the money!!!DISGUSTING
I am so sorry about your father's illness. I hope all goes well for him.
I think you are going to have to accept some financial loss here, however. If it's just a flight you booked via Thomas Cook it's probably the airline's terms and conditions that'll be the problem. If it was a holiday package I think Thomas Cook could have been more flexible, and maybe if you negotiate with them they might meet you halfway.
Unfortunately, you must take out travel insurance at the same time as a booking. This is what happens if you delay.
Regarding them taking you to court, you can get free legal advice from Ros Fernihough, a travel lawyer. Do a search on the site for her phone number.
Good luck.
You need to take some responsibility here. You booked a flight for your father knowing he had cancer without first covering him with travel insurance. You could try contacting the airline for an amendment to the booking for a later date.
Have to agree with Glynis on this one.
