I work in an Agency and we have exactly the same problems!
Their phones are either engaged, you get 'all of our agents are busy at the minute please try again later' or you get put on hold for hours at a time!
I completely understand how you feel but we have this all day everyday too
Phone first thing when the call centres open. Same goes for most call centres. The only way to reach Easyjet is to call at 8am!
Sympathise with you, have now been on hold for an hour and a half and they changed my holiday hotel
where can i find cabin bag size limits details for Thomas Cook? Travelling on a 3 day break and dont want to check bag in.......
Replies greatfuul recieved.
You may get a better response if you post in the Thomas Cook topic in our Flights forum.
i queried this and the advisor said this is normal. i have never booked on the phone before with thomas cook but i have on their website which does ask for d.o.b will everything be ok at check in.
thanks tracey
quite normal the importaint thing is you have bookesd the flights in exactly the same names as appear on each passport [ no nicknames,or married names [for women] if the passport is still in the maiden name]
i booked it as a package flights, hotel and tranfers.
Dates of birth are only required when taking travel insurance with Thomas Cook. the only other time would be if it was a scheduled airlines ie BA or Virgin flights.
Hi, Can anyone please tell me if it is possible to pre-book extra legroom seats on Sun Express flights from Humberside airport. Thomas Cook can't help, (they say),I could not find a web site for this airline, has anyone got any suggestions please.
(click here), however it refers primarily to their scheduled services from Germany, rather than to aircraft chartered to UK tour operators. Extra legroom seats (if there are any) and any other upgrades would be bookable through Thomas Cook rather than directly with the airline.
We also have a discussion topic about SunExpress in our Airlines & Airports forum, please click here. Perhaps someone there may be able to tell you about the type of aircraft, and whether or not extra legroom seats are available.

http://www.sunexpress.com.tr but it will only cover their scheduled services. Sun Express were fine - only thing to watch is that their in-flight meals are included for all passengers yet travel agents try to get you to pay extra for meals!

I tried to pre-book seats on a Sun Express flight a couple of years ago for medical reasons but failed. Their only advice was to turn up 3 hours before the flight to enable you to get the seats you wanted. There is a website Cazz
I have tried to book seats through Thomas Cook, but they say that it is not possible.Their web site does not give the option either. Thanks for your postings.
Just wanted to let you know that if you are thinking of booking next years hol with Thomas Cook on the internet it's worth popping in to TC shop. Have booked my holiday today for 2009, and web was offering a free child place and discount, I called into TC shop and they beat this price by another £80. You do only get 15kg baggage with them though and they are charging £15 each to upgrade to 20kg, so would have been another £60 for my party. I decided to stick with 15kg as I think a total of 60kg plus 4 x 5kg hand luggage for 2 ad and 2 small children should be more than enough. They are also doing £25 each deposit and nothing more to pay until the balance becomes due. I did question this as in the past I've had to pay the remainder of the deposit 8 weeks after booking and the member of staff assured me that this was not the case now.
I was just about to book a holiday on the TC website but couldn't get a final price. So I called the local shop who asked me to print it off, fax it to them and they would match it. I tried to get the final price off the direct holidays site which showed up cheaper. They wouldn't match it!!! So I ended up calling Direct Holidays and ended up with a further £50 off.
I have paid for this holiday already, money was debited from my account the day I paid, well immediately really as I phoned my bank straight after phoning call center and it had gone.
The letter I was hoping for was the one that says your account is zero.
I guess it will be OK, but what is hacking me off is I have got to sit on a premium rate phone line, so that the two people they have probably got working today can get round to my call, just to double check they haven't paid the money off on someone elses account in error Well it could happen as we all know!
Thought I was clever ringing at 9am (tried at 8am no one there, just a recorded message) as would be first call through. Fat chance. !

I have needed to phone Thomas Cook on a number of occasions recently, they all are premium rates no's now, and I am absolutely convinced that they have a policy of keeping you waiting for 6 to 10 minutes before they get around to answer the phones.
