Hi folks. just booked a great deal for turkey - august 2008 - 2 weeks s/c for £1100 for the three of us with good daytime flights and all. booked it online and not only did i save £279 by doing this we were given more options than the travel agents would normally ask e.g swapping meals on flight for sea view ( i mean sea view for 2 weeks ) no competition especially as flight meals are expensive and of a poor quality.
we would definately book online again and with thomas cook.
p.s thomsons, first choice etc were very expensive with no real bargains. thomas cook had lots of great late availability deals which dont seem to exist anymore. we were spoilt for choice.
never been with TC but im sure theyre all the same really.
Happy holidays to all :cheers

I might need to take 2 off my booking and thomas cook it coming up with a price for the remaining holiday £200 more not counting £100 lose of deposit for 2 cacelled places. It seems they are adding something more than the change for 2 people. I am going to ask for a breakdown to see if they are charging the change on all 5 of use, 5X£50. If I booked a week later the deposit was £25, would lost only £50 instead of a £100.

You might find it is an "under occupancy supplement" you are being charged. We booked a holiday for two to Greece a couple of years back, was told the price for two adults, but the final invoice was £100 more due to "under occupancy" ie. two people in a studio which could sleep three. They charged us £50 each!!!
Didn't book needless to say.

We have 2 hotel rooms. Might just cancel this year because its such a mess up. I have booked the hotel for next year for just 3 of us.

Hi, not been on for a while and need help. i was telephoned from a department in Bradford, sure it was post operations dept?
I booked a holiday to Las Vegas, they changed the hotel and as I didn't agree they said they would refund my deposit.
Now, that wasn't that simple, they hadn't cancelled the booking down! They even sent me tickets for the holiday :yikes I'd been a way for a few weeks and got back to two answerphone messages.
Anyway, the person I got said she'd send me my deposit back and would take about 7-10 working days. That was 4 week's ago.

Oh yes I booked on-line.

Hi,

I am flying with TC on the 19th June and upgrade our seats to the premium cabin. So this includes prebooked seats. Does this mean our seats have already been allocated? If not how do we go about selected specific seats?

To select your seats you need to go on 'your seat your choice' on the website. costs £10 each and £2 booking fee. Hope this helps. Denny

hi ive just come back from vegas and we booked premium cabin and it was sooo worth it.when we got to manchester on 7th may the queues snaked all over the terminal,we walked to the end and were right at priority boarding no one else there we then went through fast lane for custom control.
called on first when boarding and it was the same coming home at vegas airport.I was concerned about the journey so I rang week before and booked 2 seats together which cost £22 for two of us.It took all the stress off us and was worth every penny.

We're going to the Iberostar Tainos (with Thomas Cook) next August for a wedding and would like to know what the twin centre option is. It says on their website that it is available, but doesn't say where.
Jamaica would be nice. I've searched and searched but can't find any info at all.
Can anyone help please :tup

Alex, the Tainos blurb does indeed state in the TC brochure that a 2-centre option is available, as it does for other hotels in the Varadero area. The brochure I have is the Thomas Cook Tropical Shores May 08 - Oct 09. On page 64 it offers a 2-centre option for hotels in Varadero of a 3 night stay in Havana in a choice of 6 hotels with the supplement ranging from £45 per person to £109 per person. The 3 nights in Havana is taken on arrival in Cuba, followed by 11 nights at your chosen beach hotel.
Hope this helps!

I'm looking at package holidays with Thomas Cook online.

There doesn't seem to be the option to book seats together on the flight like there is on the First Choice website.

I don't want to book if I can't buy seats together (special needs child).

Does anyone know where this option is on the site please????

Hi Swan007. Not sure if you get the option further on in the online booking process but do you have a local Thomas Cook shop? I booked my TC holiday for 2009 with the local shop and they have prebooked my seats for me and also beat the web price by £90. Well worth a visit or phone call in my opinion plus good as you have a point of contact if any problems. If you do phone them make sure it's the actual branch you call and not just a call centre number. Hope this helps, Nic.

Swan007, if you book online with Thomas Cook you can then go on to the http://www.thomascookairlines.co.uk site and book seats together. There is also the extra option to book actual seat numbers, though this does cost extra, but having a special needs child myself I find the extra payment for peace of mind well worthwhile.

Thankyou both very much for your help, it's put my mind at rest to know I can book this and I'll also try going into the shop to see if I can get a better price.

Does anyone know why you can't select Punta Cana in the drop down list on the 'Your Seat, Your Choice' page.

I'm flying in the premium cabin and was hoping to prebook the seats I wanted when flying to the Dominican Republic.

LBTN, I would give the airline a call as they can book seats over the phone if they are available. Are you flying before 31st October? I know that I had a problem trying to pre-book seats with Thomas Cook a while ago to Cancun as the return flight was at the beginning of November and the seats weren't showing on the system yet. As it turns out, we needed to change the holiday to First Choice and have the same problem now with them as we require exit seats and these are currently only available on the outbound flight.

Make sure you get a receipt, as the extra system doesnt link with check in, take your paperwoork to show you have paid for specific seats.

Why do some holidays come up with the option to book a late checkout, and why can you not just book 20kgs when you book your holiday.... its madness!!! TC are really annoying.

I booked the seats over the phone and asked for a receipt which they are sending out, hope it gets here before next Thursday which is when I'm flying.

Thanks for your help.
