Hi
On the 5th of July we flew out from Newcastle to Sandford Orlando in what should have been Premium seats. Without realising when we checked in (at the premium check in!) we were booked in the seats in the normal cabin. Too add to this we book the larger seats because of my daughters condition which is Cerebral Palsy. After getting back from holiday and complaining (over 28 days ago) we are told that there is no proof of this and can we send them our boarding cards - of which we don't keep but should have. The manager on the plane wrote out a comprehensive report but I'm guessing this has gone missing! Has anyone had this kind of trouble before and how was it resolved? Is anyone reading by chance on the same flght of ours? That's the problem in an nutshell but happy to give more details if it will help
Cheers - Kev
Which seat numbers did you have on your confirmation email from Thomsons?
They sorted it out for us on the phone weeks before hand and we were on rows 7/8 f and g I believe.
You should have got email confirmation from Thomsons after booking your seats, confirming the seat numbers. Have you still got it? I'm wondering whether they changed the aircraft. On the ex FCA 767's rows 7 and 8 are premium. On the ex Thomsonfly they aren't. What was the seating configuration in the economy cabin?
we were going to book row 9 in Premium for our upcoming flight to Mexico on Monday, but decided against it after hearing that there could be (however small) a chance that the aircraft could be swapped to a ex Thomsonfly which only has 5 rows in Premium, meaning that anybody booked in rows 6-9 would be bumped into Economy.
Unfortunately thats not true people are bumped on booking order only so the first 40 odd to book get it and the next 20 dont
Didn't realise that ..... and it was actually someone who work for Thomson that relayed this info over to me!!
Yes, the plane did change to a First Choice on at the last minute. However, to add to the confusion we were told we were booked in rows 1 and 2 becuase of our daughters condition (not true!) and that this plane did not have thos seats to allocate! so were were 'bumped' as you say back to economy! We don't have an email unfortunately as one was not sent.
Thats not strictly true, if it's a last minute "on the day" change the resort, such as Orlando will just keep everyone in rows 1-5 in premium and downgrade the people not booked in those rows for ease.
Been there and done it myself, as staff booking the week before departureI was expecting to be first to be downgraded but I was in 3E and it was explained to me that's how they did it in SFB.
