Hi again Steph
We're staying at the Iberostar Grand this year. We've been at Excellence Riviera Cancun for the past two years. How about you? Richard has kindly provided the films. We found the food was usual airline food, fine but not spectacular. If you look through the forum the menu has been posted - I've just tried to find the page but couldn't, perhaps someone else can give the link. I found the time passed pretty quickly - a couple of films, some tv, and I got hooked on Bejewelled! Other half was hooked on another game - can't remember the name, scrambled? - where you play against other people on the plane.
Also, worth knowing the helpful guys on here say the plane will be coming back from Montego Bay (MBJ) to Birmingham overnight on the Thursday and then fly up to Glasgow empty to pick us up. So we can keep an eye on any delays.
Beth
Sounds great the plane am even more excited now. Where are you from Beth? Were from Kilmarnock. Staying at Barcelo Costa Cancun. So excited, read that theres some thunderstorms just now, hope they clear up, a dont mind a wee bit of rain cos it will still be boiling. I'll have a wee nosey about for the menu. think im gonna phone tomorrow and reserve seats so that we are sitting behind each other so we can talk to each other. What would u recommend in cancun, weve not been before. Ive been to Acapulco but it was about 10 years ago when i was 11 lol
When I first tried to log on it couldn't find my booking either. I had to email the online help. Turns out you have two booking numbers one for the booking and one for the flight. Both started 2014 / xxxx I was using the wrong one. Might be worth looking back through your reservation and see if there is another number.

These are Thomson Airways planned meal choices across all long haul flights, however there maybe some changes such as Eastern destinations where a Breakfast is served as the inbound meal and no choice given. Thomson may also substitute meals for others as needed, please don't make any plans based on this information.
Special request meals:-
Veg/Vegan- Mediterranean Vegetables and Penne Pasta outbound & Cauliflower Bhaji inbound
Diabetic, Healthy Option, Gluten Free and Peanut free- Italian Chicken, Brocolli, Carrots and mash with chicken in tomato sauce. Chicken in Herb Sauce- Veg rice, Carrots and Brocolli and chicken.
Starters and Deserts vary depending on UK and resort airports catering the flight but usually consist of either the original desert and starter or a fruit salad or Chocolate bar.
This is the latest menu i can find, not 100% sure if its up to date, but you can kind of get the idea of what to expect
Hope this helps.
BethR I think you are a genius. It worked. However, i cant chose any of the window seats, it just says unavailable, does this mean people have chose them or do u think maybe if i phoned i could chose them? Hmmm im puzzled. Roll on Cancun
Weetaylor
When is your flight again? It may be they have sold now or are unavailable for a certain amount of time?
We're from Edinburgh. I'm afraid I can't suggest anything in Cancun - we have always been out in the Riviera Maya and haven't spent any time there. We were there for our 35th anniversary last year so we're not really up for a lively nightlife lol!!! Other half is a diver and we've been to the ruins at Chichen Itza and Tulum. Otherwise we just hang out at the resort.
Fingers crossed for a good flight with no delays! Maybe see you at the airport!
Beth
Thats a shame but i can totally see where they come from with that. No point asking then really is there? My flight is 20th august. . .
Well Beth maybe once you have met us 4 you will change your mind and love the nightlife hehe. wee bit of coco bongos and the pirate ship is supposed to be a great night. Really entertaining. 2 ships go out and start a "battle" after you have had a meal onboard and some drinks. Hope you enjoy your holiday
And unfortunately the answer would always be no, even if it were at the discretion of the pilot the CCTV systems are randomly checked.
As this is such a busy topic, could I ask please that any non-Thomson Airways discussion is taken to the resort forum or to PMs.
Ok thanks. Wish we had knew we could select our seats. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Fingers crossed
Welcome onboard
Would that be a cruise charter flight you are on? If so, Thomson Airways flights are generally operated by the former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304ER (winglets). You'll find further ircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Your flights are operated by a short haul Thomsonfly Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets). IFE is procided via seat back screens. You'll find further ircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

TOM196/7 are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER (winglets). Seating is personal preference. Row 1 premium are as good as any others.

For those of you who are interested, most pilots love to show off the flight deck and may, only may, allow you to go up and see them before or after the flight. (before is best). If you want to do this, ask a member of the crew as soon as you get to your seats. My experiences with my children have always been positive on other airlines, I'm sure Thomson are no different. I'll find out on Sunday!!!
Thomsonfly had a policy of not allowing any flight deck visits on the ground. First Choice allowed them at the descretion of pilots. By all means ask, but don't be dissapointed when told they are not permitted according to policy.
We are flying Manchester to Dalaman in August, so I suppose its classed as short haul. I have booked the inflight meals, but does anyone know what they will be? also if there is a healthy option?
