I assume it's to do with the increase of some sort of aviation tax which is due to be announced in November ...... yet another tax we have to endure!

Just a note to anyone travelling to Dalaman from Manchester on TOM 882/883
The aircraft has changed from a 767 to a smaller 757 ( I have just returned on this flight) I rang the airline and tour operator First Choice on a few occasions before I travelled who assured me the flight was a 767, in actual fact on speaking to check in staff, the aircraft had changed a while back. I was quite frustrated ( as other passengers were) as I specifically paid and booked for reserved seats for medical reasons and never got the seats!

In reply to Debbilou comment they have also changed the aircraft on Birmingham to Dalaman on Saturday TOM787 this was a 767 all economy config but since July has been downgraded to a 757 which seems a bit strange to downsize aircraft during peak holiday season and the 767 now goes to Rhodes instead

One more question; does anyone know if there is a wall or anything located behind the seats on rows 32 and 46 of the B767-300ER that might prevent the seats from reclining as much as the normal seats? These rows are the rearmost window seats in their respective compartments.

Has anyone used the check in the day before facility at Manchester airport with Thomsons?
Hi we're flying from Manchester to Sharm el Sheik on 24.10.10 flight TOM 546 (547 return on 31.10) we've booked extra legroom seats but read a review somewhere in my various searches that there were no obvious extra legroom seats available, rather confused now, wanted to treat hubby as holiday is for our silver wedding - any advice on type of plane, seat choice would be most welcome, thanks.

MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM546/7) are scheduled to be operated by a Boeing 767-304/ER (winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below) including a seating plan where extra legroom seats are highlighted. Seating is really personal preference.
