TMW9725,

Flight TOM6224 is scheduled to be operated on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft which will have seating 3-3. I have no logs for that flight so I can not tell you if it does operate to Bourgas before your flight.

Not As Far As I Know, You Have To Buy On The Aircraft

I Have Had A Look At The Bristol Airport Operating Schedule And Can Confirm That Your Flight Will Be Operated With The Same Aircraft As The Incomming Bourgas Flight

A Judy,

Do you mean perfumes/skincare and gifts? if so you can buy that onboard, however ciggerettes, spirits and tobacco are not available onboard.
You will also be prevented from buying the better deals in the airport before departure. This is because Cyprus is classed (for tax purposes) as part of the EU. So you can bring back more spirits/cigs back legally, but they will cost slightly more- approx £30-35 per box. Spirits just slightly cheaper than UK supermarkets.

You are best off buying in local shops or PFO/LCA airport.

I have just had a call from Thomsonfly saying that TOM196 next week has been changed from a 33" leg room to 29" they said th aircraft due to operate the flight has gone tech. My Question is how can they say a plane has gone tech this early and does that mean were going to be on a short haul 767-300 she told us it was a bigger plane. The lady on the phone was very rude and was not helpful at all. I don't think this is accetable at all does anyone have any idea why this has been changed?

It maybe there has been a major problem with one of the 767's that they know will take a week or more to fix, therefore they have either chartered another aircraft in from another operator, possibly monarch(as Thomsas Cook have 33/35") or they are using a short haul 767-300, to a call centre person who see's 328 seats and one that holds 258 seats they may just assume(as most people who don't know much about aviation) that it is a bigger plane.

I am sorry she was rude and unhelpful to you, although there maybe little she or anyone can do know the decision has been made she should of at least been understanding.

I will try and find out why/what has happened to your plane, for them to know now it must be something serious.

BY-TOM-AMM-FCA,
Thanks very much for that information Thomson diddn't seem bothered they got are money and don't care what they do with us after that its terrible customer care. Know I wont be booking long haul with Thomson anymore.

If you can find out any more information myself and the others in the group will be more than happy it would be nice to get a clear reason as to why they changed it.

When I told the woman on phone I knew what operated the flight previously she was very shocked and started saying due to data protection they cannot do anything.

They have told other members in the group we still get full IFE but I was thinking arnt the short haul config 767's on a loop IFE now and not the on demand system or can they easily change this back to the on demand system?

Just to add I have been looking at Acars Logs for planes and it appers all the flights that the plane operated last week are operating on a FCA 767-300 this week as well so thats whats confusing me I know they sometimes change aircraft but all last week the 767 operated a range of flights up to and including ours and its following the same pattern this week.

Also to add all the ex FCA 767's are all flying fine its all getting very strange and suspicious.

If you can fill me in I will be reassured and very thankful.
What a start to the holiday!

Our Thursday flight to Sanford from Manchester has now been cancelled and we have been moved 3 days earlier to a Monday flight. Just waiting to get confirmation that our premium seat have moved with us...

Plenty of time before Jan 2010 for the flight to cancelled again.....

Hi,

I just got back from Tenerife and I wanted to say thanks again to Dazbo et al. for the information they gave/give here.

Everything was as they said it would be, down to the interior trim of the aircraft and the meals etc... - Of course, I never doubted for one minute that it would be, but just wanted to say thanks again for your sterling efforts. and thanks to anyone who actually works for Thomson Airways on behalf of the entire experience, which was early both ways, comfortable and thoroughly.

one last miniscule question, does anyone know where I might be able to find out who captained my flight?, its just one of those small details that makes the parts the whole.

thanks again and have a brilliant summer all those who have still to enjoy their holidays.

Glad to be of service and hope you had a great holiday. Although flight crew will often give names during pre-flight briefings to introduce themselves, names is not something we can post here for many reasons, including data protection and security. Not that I have them to hand anyway!

Darren

PS Thanks to GowerL7 and z.j.c for all their hard work over the last week while I've been away

Hi all,

traveling from MAN to MAL on 21st Aug on Tom 188
returning from MAL to MAN on 5th Sept on Tom 189

could you please give me the Aircraft type, Seat config (cattle class), Movies on both legs and well any info you could really. :think

I know seat pitch is 33" on Thomson long haul flights but what are the seat widths, they forget to mention this which makes me a little worried as I'm 6'3"

janzbro,

Welkcome onboard :tup
MAN-MLE-MAN (TOM188/9) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft inormation on our What Aircraft? guide. Seat widths are approx. 17.5 inches. I posted the July / August IFE listing about half way down page 134. September / October's listing won't be available until the end of August.
