morning all,
does anyone have any info on this years premium menus for the summer season on thomson airways?
last year we were very impressed with the aldo zilli inspired cray fish and mango salad etc, and are wondering what we can look forward to this time around?
I`m flying with Thomson in April. At Manchester and other airports they have multi flight check in, does anyone know if Doncaster have started doing this yet. On previous flights from there we have had to wait for the check in to open.
Can you please tell us are we ex First Choice or Tompson aircraft ?
We have pre booked 2G & H wondering what our leg room is like
2G/H wouldn't be my first choice of seats on the ex Thomsonfly aircraft, they have the bulkhead in front of them and as such do not come with a foot rest, have limited leg strech room and if you are tall your foot reaches into the front galley, which gets knocked by the crew when having to move carts. 1A/B is a better alternative if you want to be in the front row.
On the return journey you will either be in 2F/G which is the 2nd row or they may put you in 1F/G if the computer recognises you have requested a bulkhead seat on the outbound. I personally would change the request to row 3/4/5 G&H they are all the same on the ex First Choice aircraft, but on the Ex Thomsonfly ones, these are better. 1F/G on the First Choice aircraft isn't a problem because the galleys are bigger and crew can avoid using that area if they have a tall passenger in the front row.

All our customers are assigned a seat at check-in on a first come first served basis.
That was taken from the Thomson website. Does that mean that seats are no longer assigned the day before and getting there early does make a difference?

It has said that for about 3 years. But currently they are pre seating everyone I have just checked some of tomorrows flights and all of them have peoples seats already assigned.
Ta for that. I am going to pre-book specific seats myself anyway. It seems to be taking forever to get to 6 weeks before and I can start getting really excited about my hols!

Hi
Probably opening a can of worms here, so please forgive me! You say in the above post you have checked flights for tomorrow and seats have been assigned. Does that mean you can check who is sitting where the day before a flight? I'm sure even if you can, you cant tell anyone due to data protection or some other legality. Just thought i'd ask though!
As BY-TOM-AMM-FCA Works For Thomsons He Has Access To Their Computer Systems. As You Say Though It Would Be Against The Data Protection Act To Give Out Information On Here (Not That BY-TOM-AMM-FCA Has)

Yes, I did think it would be!!
Gotta be cheeky and ask sometimes though, wanted to know if we were sitting together or not before we found out at airport, not that we could do much about it anyway.
i'll just have to be patient (as I keep telling my children!)
Could anyone tell me what sort of plane it will be on flight TOM 287 Gatwick - Sharm 20th april / TOM 653 return 4th May please. Never been before so have no idea whether it is classed as long or short haul.
Will there be tv on flight. We have paid for seats together too.
Many thanks.
Deb.
Sharm Is Classed Normally As A Mid Haul Destination
Flight TOM287 Will Be Operated By A Boeing 757-200, TV Monitors In The Aisle
Flight TOM653 Will Be Operated By The Larger Boeing 767-300

Strange that they use different planes, I assume going out will be 2 sets of 3 seats but coming back 2 - 4 - 2......or am I totally off the mark!! If so, will be tv's be different on the larger plane.
Appreciate your help.
Deb.
And yes, you are right about the seating configuration. Seat Pitch will be slightly less on return journey as the magazines are stored by your knees rather than at face height on the 757's
You people are great, thank you both very much for your help.
Will it be a tomsonfly or firstchoice 767 and will it have seat back IFE???
Thanks in advance..
pa38,
As a general rule of thumb if you are flying a short/mid(less than 6.05 hours) haul route and it is operated by a 767 it will be an ex Thomsonfly aircraft which there are 8, 2 of which don't have personal screens but over head monitors -in line with our other short/mid haul aircraft.
If you are flying long haul(6hrs +) it will be an ex-First Choice aircraft which all have personal entertainment screens. There will also be one ex Thomsonfly operating certain routes(generally the routes that don't need as many premium seats, such as Orlando)
Can I just check whether our flight will be an ex FCA plane or a T'Fly?
floridafan,
