debs16,

Please include your flight numbers when possible as there's often multiple flights. LGW-GOI-LGW (TOM052/3) are operated by a former First Choice Boeing 767-300/ER.

Hi Darren,

Could you please let me know the type of aircraft for Manchester -Goa TOM158 on the 1st March 2010. We are booked in Premium Class and would be able to shortly choose our seats. I am sorry if this is a repeat query but I do believe there are seats to avoid such as those where the overhead lockers are used by cabin crew. Is there a seating arrangement we could look at I am unable to find it on the forum. Thanks a lot for your help.

kks44,

MAN-GOI-MAN (TOM158/9) are currently operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-300/ER (283 seats). Seating is personal preference. You'll find further aircraft information including a seat map on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Just read on another forum that as from January, Thomsons are stopping all one week flights to Jamaica. Does anyone know if this is correct? They are still selling them on the internet and they are brochured for winter 2010/2011.

Sunaddict,

From which airport? Some flights aready operate on a fornightly basis, for example Birmingham and some on an ad-hoc basis eg DSA, CWL. They operate weekly flights from Gatwick (tuesdays) and Manchester (Mondays) and aren't due to change as far as I'm aware.

Thanks Darren. Not sure which airport but will try to find out. The poster came from Birmingham so presumably BHX. She apparently was speaking to someone at Thomsons booking extras, who told her that they were not doing any one week flights from January. Confused because they are only fortnightly anyway.

Sunaddict,

That's correct if they are looking at BHX flights as they are fortnightly. You could go for a week, but it's a long swim back!

Can anyone help me please?

Im flying to Cancun from Manchester (flight TOM 144/145) on 17/10/10. Was wondering if anyone could tell me if this is an ex thomson or ex first choice plane please? We are flying premium as it's a special occassion and would like to know which plane so we can request specific seats :)

Also, does anyone know what films/entertainment will be shown in January 2010 or when this information will be released? Need to make sure theres enough going on to keep my DH entertained! ;)

MAN-CUN-MAN (TOM144/5) are operated by a former Thomsonfly Boeing 767-300/ER. You'll find further aircraft information, including a seat map on our What Aircraft? guide (link on my signatre below). The IFE listing for January / February won't be released until the end of this month. BY-TOM-AMM-FCA normally posts it when it's released.

For those interested, Boeing have announced they have completed the static testing of the 787 Dreamliner and are planning to fly her for the first time commencing 10am on 15th December 2009. This is subject to final internal reviews, taxi test and receiving the final experimental ticket from the US Federal Aviation Administration. You can keep up to date on progress at http://www.newairplane.com. With any luck, all Boeings problems are behind them and they can get on with flight testing and Thomson Airways can start to replace their Boeing 767's with them in 2011.

Am flying MAN - MOMBASSA on 5th August 2010 and have booked premier seats... does anyone know if this will be ex-thomsonfly or ex-FCA plane. It seems as thought the ex-FCA is a better product?

Most people prefer the FCA ones premium is better in the thomson ones as it's more intimate and crew have more time with customers in my opinion. Mombassa doesn't tend to sell well from MAN so I would imagine a lower capacity fca one used rather than an ex tom one, next smer hasn't been confirmed though. Check back in April.

The Boeing 787-8 'Dreamliner' took to the skies for the first time at 1800GMT today. It's been a long time coming with several delays over the last couple of years, but she flies at last. Photo's of her first take off can be found on Airliners.net. Fingers crossed all the design problems are behind now and Boeing can crack on and get her certified as airworthy and in to production. I can't wait to get onboard in May 2011.
