Please quote your flight numbers for specific information as there are several flights per week to Punta Cana from various airports. Where are you flying from and what are your flight numbers? I assume you're on the TOM126/7? If so, that's a wingletted aircraft (makes no difference from a passengers perspective). Aircraft information is on our What Aircraft? guide. All long haul aircraft have seat back IFE as standard.
Darren
MAN-SSH-MAN (TOM546/7) are operated by a Boeing 767-300/ER (short haul / winglets). You'll find further aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

thanks again,it departs manchesterlast year went with thomas cook on a330 i think which was a good flight are these a good plane sorry for silly questions
I personally prefer the A330 as an airframe but as far as passenger comfort and facilities are concerned, there's little in it. The ex-FCA 763's are probably the nicest in terms of cabins (in my opinion).
Darren
thank you
I read somewhere that some have Seat back PTV's while the others have overhead PTV's. Any truth to this?
All the information is on our What Aircraft? guide. The 763's have seat back IFE. The only aircraft that don't are G-OBYF/H. However G-OBYF is currently operating for Tuifly Nordic and I beleive G-OBYH has returned to the UK fleet to operate the summer season.

Re: Premium Meals
Thanks Darren
Having just come back from Cape Verde flying from and to Birmingham on the oldest 757 Thomson Airways could provide ( was told by the crew its ex Air 2000) I had to admire the way the flight attendants worked on both legs of the flight with what clearly is an aircraft not suited for that length of flight,a nearly 14hr day on that heap is a disgrace, come on Thomson Airways give your crews a chance put a more modern aircraft on this route same as you do for German flights.

I have a couple of questions really. When we went Premium Economy to Dominican Republic the whole experience was totally ruined by the people in front of us insisting that they recline their seats for the ENTIRE journey. They refused to sit them up even during meal times. It made it a very uncomfortable experience. With that in mind, we would like to sit right at the front of the plane where there is no one in front of us. Will that affect the leg room or any other aspect of the seating?
Secondly, when will we be able to select our seating? I want to do it the minute we are allowed to!
Many thanks
I would agree to a certain extent. The cabin cew work their socks off on the long flights on the narrow bodied aircraft. Even when they do get a break, they don't really have anywhere to go normally resorting to sitting on a trolly of whatever the can find. I would agree the ex-FCA (Air2000) ones are less suited to the longer sectors due to the seat design. I was glad we had ex-Thomsonfly 757's on our recent flights to Egypt that was nearly a 13 hour round trip, they're a little better for passengers but still not ideal for crew. The airframe is more than capable of handling the flights and the age almost irrelevant due to high levels of maintenance.
Darren
You can select your seat from 3 months prior to your departure date. You'll normally find the exact date on your booking confirmation under 'pre bookable seats'. it's not on all confirmations however. The front row are deamed medical seats so you may not be able to pre-book them until closer to the time. There isn't a quoted seat pitch as it's not relevant for front seats. However legrom is slightly greater than other seats but the presence of the bulkhead may not allow you to strech your legs fully if you're on the tall side. Seating is always personal preference. The seat recline problem is always an issue and it's a little selfish of the passengers infront to not place their seats upright for at least the meal service. Seat recline causes more arguments than pretty much anything else!
Darren
Thank you Darren. My husband was ready to have a full scale punch up over the reclining issue
Re: Front Row Seats on Premium
I also seem to recall been told on here that the TV also comes out of the arm rest as opposed to being on the bulk head, is this the case?
Regards,
Pat
That's correct, the front of the premium cabin and extra legroom seats in economy have fold out screens and tray-tables from arm rests as there isn't a seat infront.
Darren
We are flying to Punta Cana with Thomson on 12th June. Today they gave me the opportunity to select our actual seats. The cost was included in our package. We are in economy and I chose the first available window + next seats and these are 19G and 19H. Have I made a wise decision?
I assume the layout is either 2 + 4 + 2 or 3 + 3 + 3. My main concern is that we are not too near the loos!
We are regulars to the Dominican Republic and last year we splashed out for Premium seats. We were mighty ticked off when there was no premium cabin on our outward journey. We got a refund but that did not make up for the disappointment. This year we are back in cattle class
Thank you.
