Have Thomsons revised the number of weeks in advance they send your Final Invoice we have just recived ours for a holiday departing 7 September must be payed by 29th of May.It used to be 8weeks??
thomson 2009 are now online....
We are going away with Thomsons, 2nd July and balance has to be paid before 7th May so if your holiday is in September they are wanting payment too early surely
Hi Cheryden, yes it was wrong should have been 29 June, panic over.Been looking at 2009 online not much difference to what we payed this year.Wife booking Cyprus 2009 already sad isnt it.
The holiday we are going on 2nd July this year is much cheaper than they are quoting for same hotel July 2009 (noticed the taxi is £5 more but more of a surprise was upgrading to half board had more than doubled per person) So same holiday next year would be £350+ more and flight times are terrible, arriving resort at nearly midnight and returning home 2.30 am. " No thanks "
Thomson adds flexible packages for 2009
Thomson is introducing more flexible packages in a move away from the traditional seven and 14-night durations.
Ten and 11-night holidays are being made available for summer 2009 to a range of destinations including Skiathos, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and Antalya.
The operator is also expanding its long haul offering by introducing Cuba as part of summer 2009 first edition brochures which go on sale today (Thursday).
A new hotel concept called Sensatori, exclusive to the Thomson Premier collection, is added in Riviera Maya in Mexico, in addition to the first such resort opening this year on Lyttos Beach in Crete.
The inclusive deluxe spa hotel will have jumbo contemporary suites as standard complete with hot tubs, as well as a range of dining options, a mojito lounge and roof garden lounge.
A range of new destinations have been added to the Platinum brand including Aruba; Boa Vista, Cape Verde; Agadir, Morocco; Ibiza; Pula, Croatia; Samana, Dominican Republic; and Sri Lanka.
Travellers on Premier Collection holidays have priority check in, increased luggage allowance (23kg of checked in luggage and 7kg of hand luggage), complimentary reserved seating, priority drop off and free day before check-in at Gatwick and Manchester and complimentary in flight meals.
A La Carte holidaymakers also have free use of airport lounges at certain UK airports
Five long haul destinations are added to the Faraway Shores programme: Holguin and Varadero in Cuba; Samana in the Dominican Republic; Aruba in the Caribbean, Sri Lanka, as well as Boa Vista in Cape Verde.

The new long haul destinations have just been taken from First Choice so they arent that new.
If yes was it straight forward?
Did you receive comformation from them?
I realise that it is sometimes cheaper to book in resort but it is a swim with the dolphin trip and i want to make sure it is not fully booked as it is peak season.
Thanks jo..x
Be careful about booking Thomson trips online before you go - I was going to book my Thomson trips online before I went to Ibiza last year, however I decided not to bother (in case the same trips were offered cheaper in resort). When we arrived at the hotel, we were told by the Thomson reps the trips I wanted were not available from that hotel or that part of the island anyway, even though, according to the website, they were available after typing in the resort/hotel etc. I was really disappointed and would have been even more disappointed if I'd already paid for them and had to go the hassle of getting a refund. To make matters worse, the same trips weren't even available from the local agent across the road either.
I'm more worried that i book them here and nobody has any knowledge of it when we get there.
It is bad of Thomson though to advertise trips that are not available. Perhaps i should wait

One year because the trips are so expensive I was dithering as my DD was 12 or 13 and would need to be booked as an adult. She let me book her on the all the trips as a child to make the sale. This made a big difference to the cost.
The other thing they do sometimes is buy two trips get a free one, normally their cheapest half day trip, but if you were going to do 2 trips anyway it's a freebee.
Don't know if this would be offered on line either.

Thanks Doe.. I think i will wait and book when i get there.
Does anyone one know whats going on with Thomson, for the last 4 years we`ve holidayed with them and the service has been great.
However this year we booked online for the first time on 3 Jan and paid our balance on 11 March, but so far we have received no conformation of the holiday being paid in full and we travel in 12 days and still have no tickets.
In the past we have booked over the phone and have always received confermation in the post and tickets have arrived 3 weeks prior to departure .
Is this the new way of doing things or should i start to panic
Denny
strange.. we booked and paid in full for our holiday back in feb we go in 18 days time, didnt expect the tickets till 5/7 days before we fly [thats has been the usual time] but they arrived 2 weeks ago..
First spoke to enquiries ,totally unintrested, they will send them out, next spoke to tickets, they were sent on 6 April,so i tell them i havnt received them, they will send some more alloow 7-10 working days.
We fly on May 6 so 8 more post days because May 5 is a bank holiday,to say im ******off is an understatement.
So do i sit and hope they turn up ,any advice on what to do next?
The wife was pushing to go back to Cyprus next year,I have just checked the Dominican Republic for the same time AI and its cheaper than Cyprus half board, Thomsons need to rethink the pricing policy of their holidays.
Cyprus is a more expensive destination than Dom Rep in hotel price terms. Thomson will pay more for the hotel space in Cyprus than it will Dom Rep so it has to pass these charges on. Most operators will offer you a caribbean holiday cheaper than many places in europe.
Maybe on hotel room prices but what about fuel???.And I was looking at AI not half board, you have another grand (at least with the euro exchange rate) to put on top of the holiday price for your drinks ect.
