Will definately look into this matter tommorow, and ring thomsons- So thomson's are definately pulling out of this hotel then? Has this been confirmed? If this is the case then it confirms what I and many others have been saying all along. I did receive a phone call from them today, but just to say my tickets were here, and would I like any currency? (Yeah right! - They are not gonna get another penny out of me)

Jethro: Don't know what review website you've been looking on mate, but on trip advisor alone there are 16 bad reviews!, watchdog 8, holidays uncovered 11, holiday truths 3, plus cant remember off top of my head, which other holiday websites I got the other's off (and to be honest I aint got time to trawl through the various holiday websites, to prove a point), but it could have been travel library, real holiday reports, my holiday reports, or a number of others, - Oh, and not forgetting the 7 bad reviews I have received by PM. Oh and funnily enough, (forgot to mention) 0 on thomsons website, now that is very strange! .

BBB, Good luck tomorrow with hopefully finally getting this sorted. I know how frustrating things like this can be and it doesn't help when you have people suggesting your talking rubbish.

Blimey, seems like Thomsons have had enough!
Or perhaps all their reps who goto this hotel have got sick!!!
Maybe our opinions will now be taken a little more lightly now?
Will they pull out of all their other hotels affected by the 'airbourne virus'? What do you think?

There may be a few law suits against thomson which they can't win. They finally pulled out to limit damage. Anyway BBB if it is true it will be a big worry off you, nothing worse than dreading to stay somewhere and you had to pay privilege as well. Good luck for tomorrow mate.

I agree with "Cant think of a name" regarding swimming pools. People urinate in them, spit in them, then drag lilos and what have you into the water (wherever they have been left, maybe on dirty floors) all of these things have an effect on the water being properly disinfected.. If you dont keep pool water right it is a bad source of infection and people dont realise this. Everytime someone urintates or spits in the water it burns off chlorine & literally cocks up the ph (Acidity/ Alkalinity) levels in the water. If the pool maintenance guys dont keep the levels right for the amount of people using the pool then the problem begins. Lots of people are ignorant to this and just jump in swallow the water and ooops, ill the next day and blame it on something they have eaten . I have a pool at my house in Portugal and also one in the UK and it is very important that pool water chlorine/ph levels are maintained to the highest standards. I would not jump in a pool if I could not see the bottom no matter how deep it is, to me cloudy water means there is a problem. Cheers Jayjan

And just to add as i couldn't edit my last post, the water should be clear and sparkling and no algea (Green or dirt grease around the rim of the water where it meets the tiles), the best time to check is when no one is swimming when the water is still. hope this helps. cheers Jayjan

My freind was told yesterday
,she is not happy as there are 15 adults and 5 kids who all got free places.
They have been told they cant be put anywhere else as everywhere is full.
The only place they were offered was a quite place in teneriffe leaving on a different day.She has since found out this place is ai but they wont upgrade them.
They are supposed to be going in 8 days,and thomson said they will return there money by cheque and it will take around 7 days.
These people have got insurance,bought passports,clothes and are packed.
They have also booked time off work,They are not going to get the cheque cleared to pay for another holiday.Also they are not going to get 5 free kids places.

Thats disgusting!
Obviouslt it won't work for 15 odd people but BBB maybe you can pick up a last minute fairly cheap?
You could proberbly book the Regente quite easy now Thomsons have pulled out!!!

I thought they had to offer you 1, a change of holiday to the same the star rating or better. 2, if you are not happy with that a full refund. I would be tough with them and say you have ruined my holiday even though outs of your control, but because you haven't offered me a alternative I am going to persue for more compensation that just your standard T&C amount.

Why is it if we don't go it cost the full holiday price, and if the tour op cancels its peanuts they will pay us in compensation.

Tell your friend not to take no for answer and she is willing to take it court. I can't believe everywhere is full at this time of year. I would go to a travel agent and say I want to with thomsons only and to your chosen destination. See what comes and then you can see if thomson are lying. Get the travel agent to print out all the costings. I have a feeling because you have 5 free child places they don't want to pick up the cost for a different booking.

just a quick update my other post is in the regente topic on the costa blanca forum i was phoned last night to say also i cant go on my holiday after lots of grief on the phone with thomson they did eventually agree that i could keep the flights ive sinced looked on the thompson web site and found that they have vacanies at the ambaddasor the thopson woman told me they had no availabilty anywhere i telephoned her back to say you have accomadation why cant we be transferred here she then went on tell me that the person i need to speak to wont be in today ive tried ringing the shop today and all im getting is a voice mail saying the shop is now closed have trawled the internet and found other hotels half board for a little more money these arent with thomson themselves so the worst scenario is to have my flight with thompson then book accomadation separately anybody got any ideas how long it will take to refund the money for having the flights only ? catherine will keep ypu updated with the outcome of the situation

just had the thompson woman ring me back we can stop in the ambassador stayed there before and liked the hotel they is no extra cost to us for the change i just dont understand why we werent offered this is in the first place catherine
