Hi Pandg , I have not stayed there myself I love the location though, I have looked at this one and the reviews are very mixed, one person who I know has been there is Big Knicker Shaz on this forum, she may be of some help.

Hi Pat, yes I've stayed at the Ticlo quite alot of times as has Noggin who comes on HT as well. I always get allocated a room around the pool which I arrange with the manager Kevin. The rooms are basic but cleaned daily. They consist of bed, wardrobe and tiny dressing table in one room which also leads out to the balcony and in a separate room a tv table and chairs and a kitchen area with sink and fridge.
The rooms towards the rear of the hotel are being refurbished and my friend has stayed in ground floor room A3 which was fine - I can't comment on the rest of the blocks as I don't know how far they have got with their improvements
The staff are excellent, really attentive and friendly. Kevin, Diva, Josh and alot of the others have worked there for years and look after you if you need anything. The food is also very good in the hotel and is busy with guests most nights. They have "entertainment" on every other evening - Big Willys bingo you could probably manage for 1 night of your stay if you're desperate but the location of the hotel means you've loads of choice right on your doorstep.
The pool area is quite small and in March the hotel was full and the pool area was very busy.
If you'd like Kevins details to discuss rooms/rates I should have the info somewhere, just let me know.
I'm happy going back to this hotel, others have hated it. For the price, along with the staff, the hotels central location it has everything I want to make a good holiday.
Wherever you decide, hope you have a great time :)

Hi Pat - My son stayed there about 3 years ago and I echo much of what BKS says. His room was basic but with plenty of space.

It's certainly in a great position if you want to be close to the action and if you plan to use the hotel just to sleep and shower, it's probably okay. If you want to spend a few days around a pool - there are better places because the pool is small and if it's busy it can get a bit cramped.

Sounds as if there's some refurbishment going on so perhaps things are better than they used to be.

I think basic is ok as long as the place is clean, cos I cant abide dirty, musty smells, it makes me feel sick :cry
The hotel is in a fab location so even if the pool area is small, its so near to the beach etc who cares ;) No taxis either because everything is right on your doorstep.
Ive seen a few good deals at the moment for the Ticlo, which is great.

We stayed here for a few days and it was fine. Very central, nice pool, friendly staff. The rooms are basic, but thats India! We found it to be clean and quite quiet seeing how central it is. Have fun, I'm very envious!!
