I bought a braun silk epil epilator to give it a try before my hols as i was sick of shaving or veeting my legs. I decided to take the plunge and tried it yesterday for the first time and yes initially it does hurt like something scratching at your legs, infact i kept checking to see if it was damaging my skin (it wasn't). I was really suprised how quickly though I forgot about the pain and the results were great, was advised I may get redness afterwards or 'plucked chicken' skin so i put liz earle body lotion on when I had finished but after about an hour my legs looked fine. Don't think I am brave enough to try it on my bikini line or under arms yet though :)

I think that a great price Juby. :tup My DD had a lower leg wax two days before we went to Sharm and it was 15 quid. It was her first and took 20 mins.

She had it the morning before the day we were travelling, but we spent the whole of the next day travelling so it was 48 hours before she went in the sun. The therapist told her to be careful of the sun, but she didn't get any kind of rash and her lower legs didnt burn, but we used Factor 30. She loved it and 14 days later is still hair free. :tup

There was a beauty therapist who kept coming round our pool on holiday wanted to wax my hubbie, she kept stroking his leg hair :really. We could have lost a whole day with that :rofl

Doe, yep its a cracking price ! The therapist told me to take 2 neurophens an hour before ( gulp, ow, ow,ow,ow, !!) so I'm having it done on the thursday morning as we fly on the sunday, so hopefully any redness will have calmed down by then !
can't say I'm looking forward to growing my armpit hair though, still, if I have to look like one of our german lady cousins in the pursuit of baldness, then so be it .... :rofl

Hi!

Invested in a Phillips Epilator last year and haven't looked back :)

Bit painful to start with, but you soon get used to the pain (not half as bad as child-birth! :rofl ) , and the results are fab! Most painful area is under the arms - bikini line and legs a doddle!

Give it a whirl - you'll be very pleased!

Best Regards

Well after reading these posts I decided to treat myself to the new Braun wet and dry epilator. Just tried it... yep it hurts!! :yikes

Started off using it "dry" with the free pre-epilation wipes, yowch! Decided to move to the shower and see what it was like "wet" (without the wipes) and wow, what a difference. Used cold water first as I thought freezing my leg might deaden the pain :rofl but found warm water was far better. I need to go over them again but I'm impressed, strangely the right leg is far better than the left :que which is the one that I did completely wet so that's definitely the way forward for me.

Might save the bikini line and underarm for a special treat though!! :rofl

Ooh, that's the one I'm planning on buying in time for my holidays, it's got great reviews on Amazon too!

I use an epilator too. Once you get over the initial agony :yikes it does get better and after a while the hair doesn't grow back as much either, I don't really need to do my legs very often now.

I bought an epilator years ago and yes it hurts but I like the way you don't have to worry again while your away :D Actually I need to buy a new one. It is painful doing your bikini line and underarms but the result is well worth it. I used to go and be waxed but the epilator works out cheaper. I always use mine the day before we go away, that way your legs have calmed down by the time you hit the sun :sun2

Must admit can't handle bikini waxing, has to be veet not nice odour, but its far less painful and you don't have skin resembling a bald chicken.
