Enjoy your Holiday in VillaMartin you should have better then than what we have now. Cold and windy at the moment in Torrevieja.
By english mass do you mean a church service?
I attended a funeral in Torre ( my best friend/best man sadly) this was in Torre itself ,in the crematorium, and was conducted by an english priest, I think he was based in the torrevieja area.
Torrevieja has several internet sites of it's own, where you may get the info you want. I don't think I can put links on here but try, torrevieja.co.uk
hope you have a good holiday, rennie
I have no idea if the same thing applies from villamartin or even if buses go there, but everywhere was 1E, spanish bus rides are a bit of an adventure in themselves but a cheap way of getting about.
There is now a year round bus service to and from the area (It used to operate only in August). It seems to be very infrequent, but I suppose you could possibly get around using it (eventually!).
A taxi to the Haberneras shopping center on the outskirts of Torrevieja would probably cost you about 15 Euro each way. Into Torrevieja itself, perhaps 20. All registered taxis are metered, so you shouldn't get ripped off. There are usually a few taxis hanging around the areas' two main squares (Los Dolses & Villamartin)
With anyone staying in Villamartin I would strongly advise hiring a car.
There is a church very close to the La Zenia roundabout on the N332 (turn left at the roundabout coming from Villamartin and it is a hundred meters on the right). Even though it is in a predominantly English area, I am unsure if the services are in English, but I suppose that if I was into religion I would probably opt for the main church in Torrevieja town square for some diversity and a service in Spanish.
I have noticed that you are visiting in late April. If you are still here in early May (about the 2nd. of the month), the May Festival (Ferria de Mayo) in Torrevieja would definately be worth a visit.
all great answers. Thanks everyone. We return home on the 2nd May.
It will be from the 29th. April to 4th. May, so you can catch the first few days if you want.
The location is to the north of Torrevieja, in the park next to the waterpark. Almost opposite the Haberneras shopping center.
Try and make it.......It will be fun!
heard it was almost done recently and has lovely new lights etc
wont be able to see it for a couple more weeks
also what time does the funfair by the promenade stay open to in august?
Does anyone know if there is a bus service from Torrevieja to Ciudad Quesada, any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is there anyone in Torrevieja at the moment who can say what the weather is like - I've read mixed reports on the internet!! Also, anyone know what the weathers generally like in September???
Evenings cool down to about 26-28 degrees.
There has been no rain at all for several weeks. Skies are clear, except for the last few days where there has been some cloud early mornings, which has soon cleared.
Sun comes up at about 7:20am, and goes down at around 9pm.
Knock off a few degrees for an average September, and perhaps there may be a few more days of cloud.
Rain would not be usual.
hi everyone does anyone know of any good caravan sites in torrevieja
La Zenia beach does get busy and you would need a car from Villa Martin really to get there.
Hope you have a lovely time, it's a lovely place round there.

hi there my husband and i and our 2 daughters 10 and 14 have been offered 2wks in july/aug 2009 in a friends apt in quesada .is there plenty to do ie plenty for the girls and plenty bars .also is torrevieja lively and is it a nice place .any help would be grt
A couple of very good restaurants that I can give directions to, and quite a few bars.
For everything else you will need a car as Quesada is about 8km from the nearest beaches at Guardamar del Segura, and about the same distance from Torrevieja city.
thanx for that .to be honest we are used to going to benalmadena ,tenerife etc .would this be too quiet do you think .is this the quesada with the country cub next to the apts .do you know it .are the apts next to the pool and does it get busy in the summer. dnt want to huert our friends but also dnt want to go if its not our thing .thanks again
Any holiday is what you make of it. I live in Torrevieja but tend to goto Quesada a lot for meals as friends live that way. There is quite a lot to do but as Oly Daze says you will need a car. Plenty of Restaurants and bars in the Quesada area. Quesada does have a country club but not sure where abouts it is situated
Any ideas for locally (Playa Flamenca) for evenings on foot and by day by car? TIA
