Hello Gill,
If your friends want to experience typically 'Spanish' life then they couldn't have picked a worse location than Playa Flamenca.
I am surprised that you haven't told them, you must know if you have an apartment there.
There is nothing remotely Spanish about the place, it is full of English and Irish people who, for some reason, absolutely refuse to learn the language, and I guarantee that they will not hear one word of Spanish spoken for their entire holiday.
Most of the bars are called things like 'The Emerald Isle' or 'Molly Malone's', and of course, there is bingo EVERY night.
Dreadful place!
P.S. Before you, or somebody else gets miffed about my comments, It is totally indicative of the place if you, someone who owns an apartment in Playa Flamenca, has to search for ideas on somewhere ‘Spanish' to go.
Hi Gill Try Daves Coach Trips advertised in the freebie papers here. They do trips inland on a regular basis. As Oly Daze said they should try a different area if they want to experience `The Real Spain´
http://www.coachtripsonline.com is very very good and great value for money
playa flamenca isnt such a bad place, great for all the holiday makers and beach worshippers, but all you need to do is hire a car and in 10 minutes inland you will see alot more of the old spain

I have put them on my website under food and drink.
Hi GillB ... please feel free to post details of those places here for the benefit of other holidaymakers who, like yourself, come to this website looking for info and recommendations.
