The journey to Palma from Sa coma is around 1 hour, in my opinion the best way would be to hire a car, and drive yourself to Palma.
If that is not a possibility, then you can either take the public bus - probably not so good from Sa Coma. Or you can book a coach trip, these normally include the train ride, and a boat trip - check what they include.
As for booking excursions, that won't be a problem, shop around once your here, you will find shops in all the resorts selling these excursions. Or pop into any of the large hotels and find a rep, i'm sure they won't mind you helping them meet their sales targets!
Expect to pay around 50 euros each, be careful if the trip is a lot cheaper, these are subsidised by the blanket factory, and will include an hour or two of sales pitch trying to get you to buy health blankets.

thanks guys for the replies will have to do a organised trip.
There is a bus from Sa Coma at 7:50 gets to Palma at 9:35 to catch the 10:10 train to Soller, you can then go by tram to the Port Soller and then catch a bus from Port Soller back to Palma to catch the 17:30 bus to Sa Coma which gets back at 19:05.
A blooming long day but an exciting one on which you will see many different aspects of Mallorca.
However you go, do try to get to Soller and the Port, my favourite places.

Can you pre book the train from Palma to Soller? Is it a nightmare to get a seat? Can't stand all the way I have difficulty with standing for any length of time. We are going early Sept. and was thinking of getting the 10.10 train presumably they are all the tourist traditional trains.Any further info would be great!
No pre-booking.Its first come first served so get in the queue early and get a seat!
