I'm planning a trip to South Africa in February 2008, and am trying to work out in what form I should take my travel money. (Over and above the 5000 ZAR cash limit).
I intend to get Travellers Cheques, which currency is the better to use, US Dollars or Sterling?
I also intend to use a Credit Card and will check Martin's latest update just before I go to see which is best to use.
Also I have about $380 in cash, left over from a US holiday last year, if I take them is the exchange rate in SA about the same, pro rata as the UK, it seems to be about 7 ZAR to the $ at the moment?
Just take £50.00 in cash max !
Just take your debit cards. / credit cards.
Notify your bank you will be using your card in SA.
Draw you money out on a daily or every 2 days.
No need to have loadsa' dosh in your pocket.
Trust me !
